Upvote despite the meme being meh because OP’s title is fucking hilarious
I slipped on a banana peel and the peel landed on my penis and then my penis fell off and now I’m DEI and Thanksgiving dinner is in ONLY TWO HOURS!!!
Maybe you can still try sone DIY, or if all of that fails some DUI
This is directed to everyone who has posted in this thread who mentioned they have their phone in or nearby while they shower for music, audio books, etc.
Why?
How long are you showering that you need some content to fill the time?
It honestly concerns me that some people can’t go five to ten minutes, alone with their own thoughts.Someone here mentioned meditation, and that is how I shower. A quick, five minute chance to disconnect from the noise of the world.
Yeah sorry bud some of our lives are real awful and the quiet just lets us remember.
2nd paragraph is a bit unwarranted but I have been a phone in the shower user before.
It’s like a book in the shower except your phone is water resistant (could also put it in a plastic bag for even more protection). I used it to read my comics. Don’t do it anymore because my new phone is a flip phone and thats not the same level of water resistance as my old phone, but it was nice back then.
I have a cheap water-resistant speaker now that I use to listen to music or random talks
My phone has replaced basically every content machine in my vicinity. I’m not buying a shower radio when I have a phone
You think I wanna be hanging out for fifteen minutes WITH MY OWN THOUGHTS. you are crazier than I am.
Everyone’s life works differently. Let them enjoy themselves.
I don’t get it either. It’s my only “me” time unless I’m working on my car at night. But I put on a podcast or audiobook in the garage usually (not always). I like having SOME time when I can just… Exist. Alone. In hot running water. With nothing but my thoughts.
But tough times have given me tons of mental fortitude to get through just about anything and perhaps not everyone’s brain is wired the same. I suspect for someone with severe anxiety, it’s very different and being alone with their thoughts might be the worst thing. And anxiety disorders are pretty common these days from what I’ve heard
Dancing in the shower without music isn’t nearly as fun 🤷
if i don’t have music playing i might fall asleep in the shower. like, just monday my wife had to wake me up because i forgot my phone.
My wife has mixed irish and black hair. It takes legit 25 minutes with running water (45+ without) to detangle her hair.
Most people i know take 20+ minute showers. I fully believed they were lying when the local water company did a presentation at my elementary school and priced out 5-10 minutes for a shower.
Even just with wavy long hair it takes me LIKE 20 minutes to shower
The shower and the shitter are the last places I’m alone with my thoughts. Not giving it up.
I was wondering the same. Even though my showers always end up taking 15-20 minutes (I get stuck in the warm water), why would you fill that nice, short time, with some extra noise?
ITT: People who have apparently never heard of a Bluetooth shower speaker.
After noticing that I had a harder time enjoying being around water because of concern about my phone getting wet, I’ve just been getting water resistant phones. Haven’t really tested how resistant they are but it’s nice not caring about that anymore.
Edit: fixed a word
I have used my Bluetooth speaker every day since I bought it like 3 years ago, I never imagined how much I’d enjoy it
My UE BOOM died a couple of years back. Loved that thing. Maybe I’ll get another one…
People take their phone to the shower?
I sometimes take mine to the shower room, when I’m in the middle of a podcast pr something I wanna finish listening to, but then I’m quickly reminded of what a welcome reprieve a shower is of the constant media bombardment hellscape we exist in.
I want a shower I can lay down in. That would be nice. I miss having one I can sit down in. It was great for meditation.
shower chairs are great
a bath?
it’s not the same.
🤔
Picture yourself laying down in warm rain. Now picture yourself sitting in warm water. See, the difference? One I find more relaxing than the other.
So just don’t stop up the drain when you’re laying down in the tub while the shower is running? I’m with @FishFace@piefed.social on this one - a shower that you have space to lay down in is a tub. Is this maybe a language barrier thing?
I see. But the most common type of bath I know of is a shower-over-bath!
Get a shower chair if you have room.
My parents got one of these for their old house, for a brief time when my grandma was living with them.
10/10 recommended. You can sit and let the hot water wash over you, or take a few minutes after a regular shower to enjoy the steam and warmth on a cold winter day.
Just make sure to move it around (and, obviously, clean it) periodically so the bottom of it doesn’t end up making scum/mold spots on the shower floor.
Right? I want a shower with one of those fancy fold down cedar chairs
It’s waterproof and I wanna listen to podcasts
Water resistant*
The difference is, if you do end up getting some water damage, the manufacturer will tell you to go please yourself!
If, while showering, your device is submerged to a depth where this distinction matters, you have way bigger issues to be dealing with…
Which you can also do in the shower.
With the phone. It’s can vibrate and show porn.
The difference is that waterproof means absolutely nothing.
I can take my phone in the shower?
I leave mine on the towel rack and listen to tunes while I scub
This is the way 👆
Bluetooth shower speaker. Most even have control buttons too, so you can adjust the volume, pause/play, skip/rewind, etc.
I want to do this but the music would be too loud so it would make me uncomfortable
Turn it down
Then I can’t hear it
So there are people out there, whose gender is Hannah Montana?
I hate Isekai. I just don’t get it.
You don’t get why people would fantasize about getting to leave their old shitty life behind and start a new one in a cooler place with cooler friends or a new body or magic powers? I’m not a huge fan either but the appeal is pretty straightforward.
Especially in the time and place we all currently occupy
Isekai is just the fantasy version of sci-fi. It presents that, “what if?” question but (usually) with cat girls, swords, and magic.
Yeah, it’s the what if totally ungrounded outside of reality that bothers me, because if anything is possible, then there are literally no stakes. The writer can deus ex anything
Right, this is why a lot of them suck. There are good ones though, depending on what you like of course.
Can I have some recommendations pls.
I’m on season 2 of re:zero right now and I’m enjoying it.
I’m honestly not a huge fan of the genre myself, but in general I find "I don’t want to be a badass I just want to be a carefree adventurer " slice-of-life type ones the best.
Fun with a dumb premise: Campfire Cooking. The protagonist is in magical world and his super power is that he can buy groceries from his home world “online” and have them magically shipped to the new world.
that is hilarious
Water droplets on phone screens are too OP
