For anyone who was as curious as I was about Welsh loan words.

Ya, I think I did. Oops
What additional insurance does being non union offer? I’ve never had better insurance.
Do it!
I’ve got a proper union gig for the first time. I love it! Good benefits, decent pay. But the best part is having a union rep in your corner. I recently had a disagreement with management, took it to my rep, and viola! A reasonable result was achieved with a minimum of fuss. Was like a breath of fresh air. Everyone should unionize!!!
In a way we’re all just bits of organic matter mid-flush, waiting for the Drainpipe of Destiny

Tell them they’re all fake people for a free extension to your stay!
We’ve got transit cards, but some people still insist on cash. To be fair the same people that struggle finding coins are the same people who struggle finding a fare card. Or will try to sit in the entryway of the bus, fire up the app, and buy a ticket, then activate said ticket, then struggle to scan said ticket.
Must be nice. We’ve got cards, but a sizable population still uses cash
Oh man! I’m a city bus driver, and the amount of people that struggle with getting fare in the box is too damn high! I don’t understand how you could make a bus full of people wait for you to dig through your pockets at a pace that would make glaciers impatient. You’re standing at the bus stop, you know you’re getting on the bus, know you’ll need fare, yet here we are.
I want to get a documentary crew to follow some of these people around for a while just to see what they do with their days. I genuinely wonder how some people function.
Idk, I feel like landlords would just jack prices by whatever the ubi payments are. Ubi is a good idea for sure, but it’s only a piece.
Nice use of random word capitalization in the midst of your exquisitely insane rant. Have you ever considered being president of anything? Get a spray tan and the sky’s the limit friend!
I just became a city bus driver a few months ago. It’s not the most exciting job there ever was. I’m in a smaller Midwestern city, so we don’t deal with nearly the amount of bs (violent drug addicts and or mentally ill people) that bigger metro areas get. The pay is decent, not great but enough. The benefits are top notch though. Good pension, best health plan I’ve ever had.
Sounds like Wisconsin
Public transportation doesn’t work in the endless suburbs and stripmalls we’ve built. It’s too spread out, and we’ve been doing it for a few generations now. It’s difficult for my countrypeople to imagine living differently, to imagine that our existence may not be their birthright.
People think nothing of living 20 plus miles from where they work or go to school, can’t imagine a world where such a thing is a ridiculous notion. We could have all these nice things. People want a better world, a more functional city.
But ask people to change, to live a smaller life, and be prepared for a deluge of excuses and justifications. We all wake up and collectively decide the world we’re gonna live in today.
Lol my ex girlfriend had a “karate” teacher growing up. He taught them a few “Japanese” phrases. It wasn’t until decades later she learned this dude just made it all up. I guess it was something you could get away with in early 90’s bumfuck Wisconsin. Like this dude just rolled into town, started “karate” classes, and just kinda went with it.
El lizardo is a great name for a male strip club tho!
I have managed a building with 8 units before. Never again.
I once had a lady’s ceiling collapse. I then come to learn she’s been putting a bucket out to catch water for months, never told anyone about it. What should have been a quick 15 minute fix ended up being a total nightmare.
Had one dude who was a heroin addict. Kept flushing needles. The plumbing had to be taken apart multiple times to get his needles out.
Had a lady who kept adopting cats, wouldn’t get them fixed. She would then let them out into the hall to spray the walls with what was basically straight ammonia, except grosser.
I could go on all day, trash fires, fucking litter, a phycological inability to break down cardboard. I think my blood pressure just spiked writing this.
You couldn’t pay me to be a landlord. People are awful.
