Apparently it is widely considered to be a terrible movie. I really enjoyed it as a kid, though. Maybe it’s because my grade school friend and I got to see it in a nearly empty theater on a random half day off of school.
I was obsessed with that movie, too! I still reference it all the time. It’s an underrated silly masterpiece! I’m overdue to watch it again…
Random tidbit: A long time ago, I read that they were filming that scene on September 11th, 2001, with Dana Carvey all turtled out, when they learned the twin towers were hit. They took a moment of silence - still dressed like that - and got back to work. Just picturing it is funny to me, albeit in a messed up way.
