Ive listened to a few episodes but I can’t really parse through the rampant sarcasm from both the community and the hosts themselves as to what the general consensus is in regards to considering them “left” or what theyre even all about. Some of the things they say and talk about are typical liberal/reactionary nonsense and I saw a post on here yesterday about brace and the comments were typical. I mean…They call themselves the most liberal podcasts out there and Brace brags about how rich he is from podcasting so I haven’t been able to form any type of concrete analysis of them without knowing if theyre being serious about what theyre saying.
Brace is almost always doing a bit and it can be hard to read through all the layers of irony he puts on. When they have the right guests, they tone down the silly irony shit a bit - I remember some of the ones about the Philippines being pretty good.
In the beginning was a more matter of fact Epstein podcast hosted by MLs. I think the hosts started picking up these characters during the ghislaine trial, and they started to realize that they are a true crime podcast.
Identifying as liberals or conservative is some sort of meme roleplay about keeping thr feds of their back or something. And in the subreddit this is adopted too and goes hand in hand with the efforts of the moderators to keep the sub from getting banned by not celebrating Kirks murdern and stuff like that.
I’m kinda mad that they added a higher patreon tier for their written content. When you already making 100k or whatever per month you could just not do that.
Remember that brace actually joined armed struggle in Syria.
I think he can have some podcaster money as a treat.
They’re comrades, but use a lot of irony.
it’s cause of cia connect
Joining armed struggle in Syria on the side of the US proxies against the nation of Syria lmao
I was under the impression the YPG was socialist but I guess I am not as educated on this as I thought
YPG is under the SDF which was literally named by a US general and run by the US military.
These groups are all US proxies and have pretty much capitulated to the Al Qaeda / ISIS leadership of Syria pretty quickly after Assad left.
They are “libertarians” and like any good libertarian they basically just do whatever the US government wants

They have on some interesting, informative people, but they rank low on my media diet and I often go months without listening in. The ableism, whether ironic or not, bothers me too much.
Brace explains that they are an apolitical conservative podcast and also liberal as of recently. Very simple.
More seriously, I think him talking about being rich from podcasting is a joke. He probably is relatively comfortable but TrueAnon isn’t that huge.
If it helps, one of the more persistent topics that isn’t talking about the ruling elite being pedophiles is their coverage of communist activists and the persecution thereof in the Philippines.

Their Patreon stats currently say $185,800/month. They’re certainly not Nancy Pelosi rich, but that’s above the 90th percentile for annual income in the USA
~~There are three people making the podcast, himself, Liz, and the unfortunately-named Young Chomsky, so that’s a little under 62k, which is below median income for someone living in San Francisco (69k), which is where he lives. It’s almost exactly the national median income. ~~
Also I think that number might be before Patreon’s cut (which isn’t huge but also isn’t trivial), but I’m not sure.Edit: See the bottom of this chain
The median income in San Fransisco is $69k per month?
Yes, the median individual income is: https://datacommons.org/place/geoId/0667000?mprop=income&popt=Person&cpv=age%2CYears15Onwards&hl=en
Both pay and prices are much higher on average in bigger cities, if that’s why it seemed strange.
That’s the median yearly income, not monthly. They are making the median income on a monthly basis. They are absolutely loaded lol. (Or at least will be if it keeps holding for a couple more years.)
Oh geez, my bad
Sorry for the switch between monthly and annual, it probably would have been clearer to just work with annual numbers 😅
Isn’t that saying per year?
It’s the third biggest Patreon.

cringe and irony poisoned
It’s a conservative podcast
the forced banter tangents made the show unlistenable to me after a while
I enjoy the funni.

Joined armed struggle (on behalf of the US-aligned SDF, assisting in the theft of Syrian oil and the eventual destruction of the state)
I recall on an episode he clarified he fought for the YPG, not the SDF. I know next to nothing about the Syrian civil war or what the difference between those two groups is, so do with that what you will.
“he was a green beret, not just army!”
I thought he was fighting ISIS
He did fight Isis as part of a US backed organization, calling in American airstrikes from an iPad (I believe he mentioned this on his first chapo appearance)

serious answer: Liz is an ML and Brace is an ML with Maoist third worldist tendencies
Meh, there is a good argument to be made that Brace at least is a CIA limited hangout. He certainly hasn’t done any real organizing since Anchor Steam Brewing, which was subsequently sold and scrapped for parts by Saporro.
They definitely have ML theory tendencies, whatever is going on there, not as deep seated and grounded as Fourth Reich Archeology. Decent journalism though.
