I feel like I need to completely tune out or I’m gonna actually lose it man. Glad I have therapy this afternoon lol. I’m not sure how anyone with any humanity can live through this without reaching a mental breaking point. It’s all I can do to prevent myself from fedposting, that’s where my head is at lol.

Just remember: they aren’t finally telling the truth they’re admitting they can’t lie about it anymore. This is a good sign. This is a sign of weakness. They’re pivoting so as to not appear weak. They’re taking up a new defensive posture. I’m not trying to sound overly optimistic - they will likely be very successful with their pivot. They’ve done the pivot before on things like waterboarding or the 2003 Iraq war. But the fact that they are pivoting shows that they are unnerved.

Great comment. This is what I’m trying to hang on to. That ultimately I believe this is the beginning of the end of Israel. But while that’s the ultimate goal, some god damn justice for the crimes that have been committed would be nice.

They will be less successful with this pivot than they’ve been with every one beforehand. Look at the opinion polling - without a single American troop killed, the opposition to this war is greater than it was for any previous war where Precious American Lives were at stake. That suggests a pretty dramatic break in the American tolerance for imperial crimes even when nothing is at stake for them or their communities personally. Trust in the media and the political class are at an all-time low.

I’m so sick of being called names and clowned on for two years only to have those same shitheads try to gaslight me and others into thinking they were always on the right side of the issue

Being called names and clowned on on the internet is completely tolerable. The intolerable part is people losing their jobs, losing their immigration status, being kicked out of university, being deported to fucking el salvador, not to mention all the palestinian lives that could have been saved if the media class had have taken a correct stance from the start, and all for what? So they can finally come to the same conclusion 18 months later?

While it hurts my soul to see people who excused a genocide draw the line at forced starvation, I will not miss this opportunity for agitation against isntreal.

The pressure against isntreal at this point is purely symbolic and it is essential that you, me and all our comrades work hard now to make sure that it becomes economically impossible for isntreal to continue starving Palestinians.

    Boycott israel

Make your friends and family boycott israel

    Make your union boycott israel

    Make your school/workplace boycott israel

    Make your city boycott israel

    Make your state boycott israel

    Make your government boycott israel

And if they don’t listen, shut down your country. Protests are growing rapidly at this point, many people are feeling angry and powerless. Turn that anger into productivity by organising against isntreal.

It was always going to happen. If not now, it would have been 15 years from now they’d be saying they were always against this.

I wish I had done more way before October 7.

I don’t think it is that, we are half a year into orange man. The threshold has been reached for when it is time for sensible liberals to hedge their stances. If that is because they think it sufficiently unpopular or that it is already over and it is time to get their cover for posterity, I don’t know.

It’ll be interesting to see how they try to backpedal on Kamala’s stance on it, trying to downplay it to get people to vote for her, DNC goers covering their ears when the names of dead Palestinian children were being read, ”I’m speaking”, etc.

By interesting, I mean it’ll be more horror akin to ”I always opposed the war in Iraq”.

It’s how they keep the pot from exploding. They pretend to care while it’s too obvious, maybe a few head will rolls, but the institution will still be there and in a month from now they’ll be back at it.
