  • My analysis:

    1. Modi assumed that since he led a pogrom against Muslims once, Trump would like him. So he bet a lot on his “friendship” with Trump without realizing that Trump couldn’t care less.

He actually took it too far where at one point Modi was campaigning for Trump which ruined all relations with the Dems. And now relations with the US would be worse bad the US for the foreseeable future.

    1. Alienated most allies. All neighbors including countries like Bangladesh, Nepal & Bhutan no longer have friendly relations with India. With Bangladesh, the BJP has been spreading disgusting racist propaganda over the last few years but idk how they managed to ruin relations with Nepal & Bhutan.

Our relations with Russia are still somewhat in place because of friendships established under Nehru & Indira Gandhi, going back to the 50s. Modi was been favoring America too much tho and while Putin is tolerant of this kind of shit, I think that our relations with Russia have soured over the last 11 years, going from really good allies to just friends.

    1. Narcissism The BJP thinks that India(and by that they mean Modi) is far more powerful than it is. This has led to India adopting hostile traits from American type diplomacy except that India doesn’t have any real economic or soft power.

There is this idea of “Vishwaguru” which roughly means “Master/Teacher of the World” and the BJP claims that India has attained this title after Modi became Prime Minister and while it works for Internal Propaganda, they themselves along with Indians have bought it a little too much and now they actually behave like it’s real. Thus further alienating countries India has no influence on like Canada where India assassinated Canadian Citizens and also America where they were caught attempting to do so.
