I mean to be fair this is just any profession. Modern highly abstract processes often have long names for things so they get acronyms. But if you’re a new apprentice at the car factory, and your foreman points to the rack that’s got all the different types of hammers on it and asks you to fetch a planishing hammer you’ll be just as lost as the new office admin being asked to fill in a GARF.

This is the way, whenever I make anything that I can easily scale I make the amount I need that day +2 or +4 extra portions which is basically no extra effort if you’re already cooking to make more. I then freeze the remainder. Then when I’m on a day when I am busy/can’t be arsed to cook, it means I get healthier food than a takeaway pizza. Means there is always a choice of ragu or dahl or chilli etc it in my freezer.

Sid Meiers Alpha Centuri, it’s the best 4x game of its era and is a perfect example of how well games from the 90s can play, in many ways it feels like a modern game made with severe technical limitations. Today the graphics are outright bad (they weren’t exactly jaw dropping at the time either), and the UI lacks a couple of modern sensibilities and QOL features but everything else is top notch.

Yeah, infrequently Gaia goes wild and snowballs but otherwise those three tend to do well, Spartan and believer do very well in the early game at least.

Yang is decent, fantastic production, but poor econ and effic late game. Uni just has unbeatable perks and minimal drawbacks that can be negated pretty easily (hunter seeker algorithms?). The main issue is that Uni makes the game too easy. Hive is an excellent ai opponent though - the ai can actually play them quite well, unlike Lal or Morgan.
