Seems like a potential health hazard. Captive animals have specific diets and may have certain minerals or metals built up in their bodies that wild animals do not, and a predator eating them will become a concentration point for that buildup.

I leapt to the conclusion that they’d actually be prey. That would have been truly horrifying.
