They aren’t funny, but I also keep getting gaslit by people in my life that “ironic” bigotry is funny and cool. Everything they don’t like is gay or r-slurred. To the people I know who don’t find it funny, it’s still no big deal and I’m overreacting if I don’t want to spend time with people with terrible politics.

When people weren’t getting unlimited and infinite praise for punching Richard Spencer, instead getting condemned, I thought that would be the final nail in the coffin for “”““ironic””“” bigotry. It’s so obvious a lot of people use irony as cover for their actual beliefs, especially outright neo-nazis. I can only assume those still clinging to irony aren’t actually being ironic and are deliberately trying to obfuscate their ideas, hoping to find others who share them.
I can really tell its not gonna be a fun time when the first joke is derogatory and not directed at the self. Usually old fucken dudes. Its like being “funny” to old people is actually just being mean.
