Continuing through Saros. The game has now become almost too easy, except for the the final zone where they basically prevent you from getting op by only giving you a couple encounters to get strong and take away the second life ability to make the boss significantly harder. Make up your mind devs.
I also find it baffling there’s only like 6 guns in the game. And 2 of them are utter shit (shotgun and crossbow) and the heavy machine gun is often just a worse version of the tactical or smart rifle, except when it gets the correct buffs and then it just melts anything if you can hit with it.
Damage scaling seems totally random in the game as well, with numbers seemingly being nonsensical and sometimes they hit harder and sometimes they don’t. You can progress and kill enemies with half a clip, and then suddenly need 2 or 3 clips to kill the same enemy. Nothing is made clear, everything is vaguely obfuscated and i don’t like it.
I just want to kill the king and see what the epilogue challenge is like now.
Also trying golden deer in three houses as a warm up to the new fire emblem in the next month.
They did a really shitty job of explaining the weapons and damage stats in the game. Don’t give up on the shotgun. The key with them isn’t necessarily damage its stun. Once you get the yellow strike ability, you can basically auto-grapple to stunned enemies and punch the shit out of them. The alt-fire’s on a few of the shotguns are better than the standard fire, which sucks. They really needed to send this back into the oven and bake it for a few more months to straighten these bugs out.
I’m amazed that you don’t like the crossbow. The repeater crossbow alt-fire is the best weapon in the game bar none.
Oh I cannot use alt fire in the game. The half button press basically breaks my wristsbans fingers, so I rebound it to circle and it basically is impossible to aim and shoot and move while using alt fire now. So any weapon with a good alt fire I don’t know a single thing about.
I’ve always struggled to play any game that has pressure sensitive buttons and turn them off as much as possible.
The exact same melee problem plagued returnal so I’m not shocked that they hide amazing damage behind doing the thing the entire game basically tells you not to do, get close. The entire party red bullets system seems like it’s only half functional as well leading me to just dodge instead because half the time it fails to parry them and I just eat a face full of bullets. And I can parry, I finished lies of P and sekiro.
Remap it to R1 and you can just hold it down and fire with R2, assuming you can claw grip it. If not, try R3. Its not really the end of the world but, unfortunately, the alt-fire really unlocks the potential of several of the weapons. The alt on the repeater basically means you can just spam fire the entire time and then just run around avoiding things. Its really awesome.
Have you looked into the various weapon perks? Once I learned about a few of them I was way better at tailoring my weapon choice selections and it made the game MUCH easier. Power Generator FTW!!!
Yeah parry sucks. Its only really good for long range to clear the red out of your path for movement. Up close its worthless.
