I mean, we don’t know for sure if that particular dish is a regular dish or a transformed sapient one. There was a lot of background animate object staff beyond the main supporting characters.
There were a lot of sentient dishes during that one song and dance number… What are the odds that this is one of them?
They’re also coming out of the cabinets and cupboard. And it’s explicitly stated that chip sleeps in the cupboard. If the sentient dishes live where dishes go normally, I feel like that means they likely needed to toss the inanimate ones to make room.
