He should cowardly runaway because he’s out of mana
British debuff:
Target creature must show ID and lose one action point every turn. Debuff is permanent until VPN is used on target.
Final fantasy 11:
“DPS how are you?”
(2 hp left) “HASTE ME! HASTE ME! HASTE ME! HASTE ME!”
“…but… You’re going to die…”
“HASTE!”
14:
“DPS how are you?”
The DPS is already dead because they were impatient and pulled stuff before the tank could run in
And I swear the guy is going to walk from the spawn point because I sure as hell am not going to raise them.
There’s a fun bit of unspoken communication between the tank and the healer. When a DPS has face-pulled mobs for the fifth or sixth time, it’s like the tank and healer share a short psychic message.
All at once, the tank suddenly refuses to pull mobs off of the DPS. They’ll go out of their way to avoid drawing aggro from those mobs. Beforehand, they were doing some guesswork on how much range their taunts actually had, but now they’re doing legwork to keep those mobs juuuuuuust outside of their taunt range.
At at the exact same time, the healer suddenly stops healing that DPS. DPS calls for heals? “Sorry, low on mana. Figure it out.” “Sorry, on cooldown. Figure it out.” Even when their mana is completely full. All heals get dumped onto other members, and even area heals are placed just out of reach for the problem DPS.
It always happens at exactly the same time, it always catches the problem DPS by surprise, and it’s always glorious to be a part of (I main tank).
FFXIV also has an interesting relationship with story content. Every new player is forced to run through the entire campaign in its entirety, which means seeing a new player in a cutscene for the first time is seen as a good thing by older players. They know exactly where that player is in the plot line, and are excited to be a part of it.
Oh as a main healer, I know exactly what you mean.
I will risk every mana point and cooldown to keep the whole party alive, and I will even cast rescue to pull that poor black mage out of an AOE that they didn’t foresee. But start pulling mobs before the tank does for the third time after I warn you and I’m making a macro to specifically skip you when casting heals or swiftcast raise.
However, when a player is new… If I get the message of someone being in a duty for the first time, I’m always happy for them. During endwalker’s last boss I always ask the tank for the second limit break in “that” countdown.
I don’t have that much free time now, so I can’t do mentor roulettes anymore, but I miss them badly. It was so satisfying when you joined a party in which people left because there was a sprout messing up mechanics that nobody explained to them and cleaning them on the first try after you explain them…
if a dps pulls ahead of me that means I was too slow as a tank and should get enmity back asap
DPS: dies
“WTF healer? Why didn’t you heal me?!”
GLASS CANNON BABYEEE
Because of OP’s title, I’m now imagining a “British” debuff. What’s that like? “Scurvied” ? Or “stabbed”?
-4 charisma -5 endurance (smog) +2 seafaring/navigation +15 capacity of central base storage (british museum)
And don’t forget the +5 to capturing the flag
is simply having to be bri’ish not enough?
-3 charisma or +3 charisma depending on the accent and the npc you speak to.
Everything is mold and the food is just boiled+salted
OP, why British is a debuff?! 😭
(And why it makes sense?! 💀)
bc I wasn’t pleased with any emoji for curses. If there’s one country that tripped up several ancient curses over the years, it’s the UK
They kind of are one. Ask anyone from india or ireland.
Burned and cold cancel out so he’s got that going for him
This could be the next terrible food craze, because honestly, I’m curious.
I had a mint-cayenne lemonade once that was actually pretty spectacular
The sour, sweet, minty, and spicy all hit at different times, so the flavor had a really interesting development
Cooldowns unpopped, positioning improvised, but perfect. communication unhurried, clear, humorous. HP has hit single digits 4 times in the last 10 seconds. Vibing.
most damage taken, most emotes queued, least deaths, most endorsements
Every HP above the last is just filler.
The only healing spell I need is Revivify, and I don’t need it yet
It’s not the fall that hurts, it’s the sudden stop at the end.
And then the DPs stands in fire and dies before the tank.
