She should go Forward Party. Whether an independent, dem, republican, green, etc. Be ethical and put the needs of the many before the few!
My wife would just sell my data.

I don’t eat out a ton, but I ran by a taco bell the other day driving from one location to another for work, and their “value items” were $2.79+. They used to be $1. Hell, the small drink was $2.79, WTF?! I drove off. I’d have spent over $10 trying to save money.
So far it’s great! Cheogram works well with 1 on 1 messages, but I struggled at first with making sure it worked well. It wants to initially enforce encryption but the most you can do with non xmpp users is TLS security. Wish I could host a bigger server to have all friends and family sign up in order to get them using protest secure messaging.

Not to mention no ATM camera recording the transaction

“Penlink’s main product, Tangles, already scrapes social media and online accounts; Webloc adds the ability to tie those “anonymous” mobile IDs to specific people, at specific places, without a judge ever hearing about it.”
So there’s crazy use of data brokering right there. No warrant or subpoena needed.

Man, I setup Immich for my whole family, a RAID6 of enterprise drives with about 10TB total available storage, and 1TB/user. I’ve got symmetrical 1Gbs fiber, too. Does anyone use it? No. The last get together I told them if anyone wanted help setting it up, I wouldn’t mind. And no takers really. I said it’s easy enough anymore with a 1TB SSD being <$100 it’d last a very long time they could back up too that, far more than Google allows… Nope…
It’s insane to me that nobody wants to change, but when these companies change on everyone, they just let it happen.

That’s good to know, but I don’t have YouTube on my phone, and honestly it’s not worth trying another platform. I’m sure the content is good and helpful to some, but I’m also well aware of how bad the upcoming “age verification” or whatever we liked to call it, is. I was just curious about his view or opinion and wondered if it offered any new takes.

You see, that’s by design though. It’s meant to be insignificant so it flies under the radar of almost everybody… And the few that oppose lol like the crazies wearing the tinfoil hats, etc.
It’s partially why i believe all media is covering “the war” and not Epstein files, the upcoming draft, or anything else that’s going to completely ruin so many other lives in this country.
Mark my words: “We’re all sheep, walking orderly to the slaughter with tiny screens in our hands distracting us with our fake voices arguing online thinking we’re making a difference.”

Gen Z just isn’t gullible like others, and neither are Millenials or Gen X. The other generations have a few wealthy C suite idiots that apparently speak up for everybody, which is not accurate in anyone truly wanting AI… They’re (Gen Z) also being fucked from the get-go and don’t want this dystopian bs anymore.

I’m sure this is a great video, seriously, not being a douche, but he talks very fast like it’s sped up or something and makes it too uninteresting or unappealing to listen to. While I can appreciate not wasting time with a bunch of sponsor plugs or shameless ads, I just can’t do it.
I just use Google Messages, but I’m signed out of the app. Actually, no Google acct on my whole phone. I stick to F-Droid for apps of I need em.
The way I see it, mousy sms stiff goes through the carrier servers I’d not Google, and at least Messages is RCS. However, I’m running XMPP and jmp.chat for a phone number to test out switching entirely and setting up friends and family on my server. Trying to go full hermit mode.

So we can now sign up with your email for accounts?

What country are you in? I literally just did this (US) in my browser and watched (started) 3 different videos with no account or age checks.
We spread word to migrate to federated and non US tech platforms to start taking their financial leg, then ad revenue drops and slowly they weaken. The weaker they are, the less political influence (aka purchasing power) they have!

Ohhh trust me I know it’s all about surveillance. I’m just meaning they’re going to negatively impact everyone everywhere without a second thought because they’ll get what they want in the end. Either more money or more reelections

My other biggest gripe: what happens to business computer users at the office? What about their admins? How much extra work is this going to create???

I’m stealing every one of these, thanks! I’m in that same burnout pool of, can I just be fired already…
This is actually an Android feature. iOS, too. It’ll give a random MAC or device MAC depending on what you want.
My MDM at work for Android-based handhelds I’ve configured to device MAC so I can geofence devices and keep track of them. If an employee connects to the employee network (which has to be configured by IT) we set it up with with device only MAC so we can add that device to the allowed list. Apple warns “it enables tracking” but if they ask I tell them in public it might be configured that way but we don’t care nor monitor that closely. If someone shares out the WiFi password by digging through settings, it wouldn’t matter as it’s not allowed.
Anyway, just thought I’d share both mainstream OSes do this now for a few years now.
