my god ttyd was so good we didn’t know what we had on the gamecube. ofc it didn’t sell as well as everything else so instead we got waggle controls
trueanon is usually good. Their more focused episodes r a treat and well researched. lately they’ve been shooting from the hip. i would say to hear them at their best you gotta listened to the series like 9/11, The Game, keep the dream alive, etc.
:mao-ze-dollar:
i like these better
it’s kinda wild that rich old ppl are still kicking it at 80. I’d figure every ghoul that escapes (in the hit 2000s game luigi’s mansion) wants to live forever
the worst is when they do this in interviews. apparently during the agile dev craze some middle managers mixed the idea of ‘KPIs’ into the granular work-tracking that is involved in ‘agile software development’. apparently ‘key performance indicators’ which were previously. only known to the business analyst class of office priests has been foisted upon engineering departments too
here’s the full jpg if anyone else wants to take a crack at bg removal
where’s that from? Years ago I read Debt, BS jobs, and dawn of everything and enjoyed his writing style even if I thought some ideas were idealistic.
sometimes when I get too drunk I feel like I get a little too loose with the righteous anger and end up sounding unpleasant or, i dont know, speaking in a manner that I might find unpleasant at a social gathering. I have to thank whatever higher power there is that my friends are graceful and understanding.
i use mac lol. years ago ubuntu was the easiest to set up for me. Anytime I’m using linux it’s actually exclusively in a terminal for deployment related stuff or personal projects where I set up remote servers etc. I think anyone being able to turn on computers and use them without knowing is a miracle I just wish that tech ghouls didn’t own them. Not everyone needs or wants to know how to code. So my recommendation is whichever one suits your needs. pick the distro with proven least-friction
by its very nature there will always be more friction doing almost anything in Linux compared to windows or mac os. you’re not wrong or stupid.
it’s not the second coming of christ just a different philosophy of using the computer. i do think that actually knowing how a computer works instead of the hyper convenience of modern OSes is valuable. Hell, using windows by default makes most advanced-nerd-stuff slightly more difficult. With windows and mac (i don’t notice it as much on mac tbh) you also have to work backwards to de-bloat the systems which is wrong.
here’s my searing take that would fix this: communism. Under my regime a tech company would make the one operating system and it would be all the best parts of dedicated support and convenience found in closed source OSes while not doing all the bloat stuff. yes it would be open source but it would be so good you’d never experience what you did
I feel like thousands of people are getting run around in circles by cursor and AI suggested code. I am only confident using it because i spent my entire school and half my career not using tools like that. even with stuff that it’s good at like JS/TS it still causing me headaches if im not laser-focused with prompts
I’d probably feel the same way if I lived in florida. Start living, as in contextually in your own head, “day by day”. Then, maybe, some day you’ll be able to get out of there and make things work for you. The cliches are called such for a reason. All you can do is to strive towards what you believe in, what you want, and hope that luck catches you working.
A lot of work I have been doing recently has involved modernizing a codebase that is too old and bc I have the knowledge of what should be done I am able to just let an LLM rip 80% and guide it to fix the remaining 20. Have never used these chat/search bots for anything else
The code also isn’t well documented or self-documenting so it’s also really good at parsing related files and reading packages to figure out how they work for me way faster than searching the internet or guessing
Portal 2 clears stardew as a ‘game’. What I mean by this: I actually finished Portal 2 & the co-op story. I never felt compelled to finish stardew.
Love both, but this is only happened because portal 2 is old and rating games is useless. apples & oranges etc.
I think, for better and worse, the ease of access to the internet has finally given enough people a broader perspective at which to view geopolitics. That combined with deteriorating economic prospects for the middle class means not enough ppl can be swayed by the mostly emotional beats the dems have relied on for ~15 years
They’re really running out of steam. Based on her tone it seems like the dem machine can clearly see that their idpol isn’t working anymore
i’m not sure this one has the juice for 2 day sesh but I appreciate the effort
