Right, kind of an enemy of my enemy sort of thing. I could definitely see the same thing happening with China in some hypothetical scenarios

Are you saying the CCP has done nothing that violates international laws or threaten other countries sovereignty?

The US allied with the USSR to fight the Nazis. This wouldn’t be much different in my view

It’s not a secret. Just nobody in any leadership position seems willing/able to do anything about it

Well sure, there might be a little internet, but how much you think they got out there? With everyone trying to use it at once, it’s gonna go real slow like.
It blows my mind how much they cribbed from Grapes of Wrath for that episode. You can literally see John Carradine and Henry Fonda’s characters right there hanging out with Randy, same spots they were in in the film

"The story of the human race is war. Except for brief and precarious interludes there has never been peace in the world…” - Winston Churchill

Grocery prices have gone up like 120% in the last 5 years. The cost of some items has doubled in the last year. There are items that I can’t order online because Canada refuses to ship to the US (I live closer to Canada than to most other states).
We are well and truly fucked my friends. Be prepared for things to keep getting worse. We will likely see things we haven’t seen since the Great Depression. Go watch “The Grapes of Wrath” and let old Tom Joad show you how it’s gonna be.

It’s all a scam, man. Money’s just pretend. I converted all my cash to radishes. At least when the economy goes into a death spiral I’ll still have radishes.
That’s the only thing they’re good at

The right to silence was born out of the religious persecution that was rife in Europe in the 16th and 17th century, where coerce confessions and forcing people to incriminate themselves, even if it was bullshit, was commonplace
I think that’s what he was talking about. His argument is that the Founders did things that could incriminate themselves to their old government, and there were no protections in place to shield them from, for instance, self incrimination. The ‘validity’ of the law, I think, isn’t particularly germane.

Can we change it so we run things well instead of profitable?

That guy sounds like the type of person to go all in on phishing emails

Counter-Counterpoint. If you call someone, you should understand that they may be unable to answer to phone at a that specific time, and you should use the tools at your disposal, such as voicemail, to facilitate further communication.

What does someone’s personal life have to do with their work performance? Why does he want to get to know who they are “as a person” rather than know how they are qualified for the job? This has a bunch of red flags as far as I’m concerned

That scope will narrow as time passes.
Now it’s brown poor people. Soon it will be trans people. Maybe next brown rich people, or Muslims, or Socialists. Y’all know the poem.
They’ve already “declared” Antifa a terrorist group and fentanyl as a WMD, that’s all the justification previous republican presidents have needed for starting wars and civil terror campaigns.

I heard a lawyer argue something like this once in court, regarding the the fourth and fifth amendments:
These laws are not meant to protect the innocent, they are meant to protect criminals. The founding fathers who penned it were traitors and seditionists who fought a war against their own country. They wrote these laws so that guilty people would be able to avoid punishment if proper procedures aren’t followed, and certain rights aren’t upheld.
I’m not sure how much I agree with that, but it was definitely an interesting take.
I absolutely adore the old wild west landscape that was the old 8 bit micros. There were some really wacky things that were tried out, both from a technical aspect and a UX aspect
Shit man, take me back to the “,8,1” days
The beauty of open source projects is that if they are abandoned, other people can pick them back up. Sure it may be difficult, but if it wasn’t FOSS it wouldn’t even be possible.
