The average IQ is 100. That is not a lot and half of the population is below that. I’m more surprised how bad our education system is in filtering out the dumb people. Someone who is ‘not smart’ but has good memory and is diligent can make it frighteningly far in our society. Not to mention nepo babies who are a different kind of problem

  • “It would get old fast”? Op, I’m afraid you don’t have good friends. When I was a university student, I was in a shared apartment with two friends. It was great: you always had someone to do stuff with and group activities were much easier to schedule.

Now that I’m older it would be nice to easily check who’s up for something, spontaneously grill with everyone or simply sit together in the evening and talk.

My friends group still goes on vacation together from time to time and I love it. If your friends are only enjoyable in small doses… I don’t know… that sounds sad.

Also with a house of your own, everyone would have enough space to retreat if necessary.

Besides from the bad gardening that was mentioned by the other posts, I would love to live like this.

  • You have to know what an AI can and can’t do to effectively use AI.

Finding bugs is on of the worst things to “vibe code”: LLM can’t debug programs (at least as far as I know) and if the repository is bigger than the context window they can’t even get a overview of the whole project. LLMs only can run the program and guess what the error is based on the error messages and user input. They can’t even control most programs.

I’m not surprised by the results, but it’s hardly a fair assessment of the usefulness of AI.

Also I would prefer to wait for the LLM and see if it can fix the bug than hunt for bugs myself - hell, I could solve other problems while waiting for the LLM to finish. If it’s successful great, if not I can do it myself.

  • Oh sure. Suppress your feelings. Very healthy. Makes aaaaallll the problems go away. /s

I think that woman needs therapy. And all the people in her stories too - if they even exist and aren’t just a thinly veiled attempt to get suffering people to work more.

Burrowing your feelings like that is a fast way to a burn out or worse.

Oh I think people in real life also have to make sense, it’s just often messy, corrupt and a mixture of narcissist and egomaniacs screwing over everyone.

History books don’t tend to write about that but simply parrot the official story - which doesn’t make sense because it’s white washed and sterile and missing important facts.

  • Yes, and it’s intentional. Rich people don’t need happy people. They need drones to do their biddings. Happiness? Dreams? Building a better future for your kids? That does nothing for your masters and is therefore unwanted and systemically suppressed.

As long as we live as serfs for the 1% happiness is something you have to fight for not something you can achieve by doing what you are supposed to do.

    Society currently works against us.
