No other (more important) info such as payment details were involved Nothing to do with Pi-Hole itself outside of their rather questionable choice of using WordPress, which is a platform with quite a history of security problems.

Whatever the language’s equivalent of x86 assembly “NOP” is (forgive me - been decades since I programmed, so I’m not up on the modem languages).

Sure would be nice if those down-voting could bother to justify themselves. Otherwise I’ll just have to assume they resent the facts being spread regarding their selfish hoarding of wealth generated on the backs of used & abused workers who they are now dumping as quickly as they can so they can hoard even more.

Considering all the issues with “supply chain” attacks (sneaking malware code into libraries & such that many, MANY open source apps rely upon - I’ve no idea if that’s the case here), I tend to prefer waiting until the code’s been vetted, or at least out there long enough to minimize chances of infiltration. I know it’s still no guarantee, but it’s at least mildly safer.

Ain’t gonna happen - in the end their corporate masters have too strong a hold on virtually all of their testes/ovaries. IMHO, true change will have to come from external grassroots origins & I keep hoping the progressives in Congress will find a way to make that happen. I’m afraid the duopoly is too ingrained in the mindsets of average Americans for that to work without a near complete collapse of the country, however - which is probably why the progressives still haven’t stepped out on their own thus far.

I’m aware, and that fact only lends credence to what I said to another responder in that humans are the same everywhere you go - it’s only the specific variances that are mostly due to culture that differ. Also keep in mind that in America the Republicans have been working to take over the country since the 1970s - more recent events are just the inevitable result of the dam finally bursting. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn there were similar forces at work in India.

Meh. I’d say it’s more variance in method than an actual disparity in quality. Humans are basically the same everywhere you go: some small percentage are truly great, a similar (but seemingly larger) percentage are the truly evil, and the rest are varying degrees in between. The differences are mostly cultural in nature.

I cannot for the life of me fathom how people think this sort of extreme role-playing is going to work out for them in the long run. I kinda get the escapism aspect, but to carry on with it for this long and think you won’t get caught seems quite absurd to me.
