  • Tldr; Conservatives are the problem on purpose so they can blame others.

Conservatives intentionally make policy decisions which make problems worse heading into an election, or otherwise try their best to prevent others from solving the problems when not in power, so they have problems to blame the other parties on regardless of whether their policies are responsible for the problem persisting.

It’s a longtime strategy of Republicans and it’s been working more than people would like it to, and Canadian conservatives use it as well especially in Alberta. Before the conservatives got back in before the pandemic, they blamed the AB NDP on problems that take way longer than 4 years to solve (which they are responsible for) and got back into power. Then healthcare got worse and worse and when the pandemic hit they intentionally nulled the contract the province had with doctors and shit hit the fan, got to the point you couldn’t even see a doctor outside of emergency here for minor things like getting an STI test (so prepare for there to be a lot of young people rocking crotch rot in the province unknowingly btw).

They also stomped out all the tech grants that were getting big tech companies to invest in the province so the economy would be diversified. Now what do they whine about now that the US is running back nazi policy? Oh we need to diversify to be resilient to us trade attacks. Huh who could have guessed.

Next election cycle they then blamed the federal government for the financial and healthcare problems that they themselves contributed to but also control (federal government does not control healthcare or the lack of corporate incentives in investing in a particular province) , giving taxpayer money to large corporations which in turn pay them - and funding it by cutting more public services which in turn they blame the feds on.

Conservative voters are probably one of the dumbest demographics on the earth considering they are statistically the ones who rely most on the programs and services cut by their governments.

  • I’ve never met any windows evangelists to be honest. Lots of Apple evangelists though who will spend forever talking about windows. Every developer I’ve met who uses Windows always had a tongue in cheek sort of “well it kind of sucks in some ways but it’s what I’m used to, one day maybe I’ll get off my ass and change OS”.

Reminds me of the “I use Arch Linux btw” meme which doesn’t really happen as much anymore other than as a joke. Also, I use Arch Linux btw

Take your mask off and see what happens, incel. It’s always the same fucking formula, go and whine about your own tiny little insecurities every single time anything about women’s experience is highlighted.

You’d find something between your ribs irl real quick if you took off your mask around the people in your life and they found out how incapable you are of even reading about half the population of the Earth’s perspective without self inserting your pathetic insecurities.

  • Oh yes let’s vote in our little submissive trumplover then so he can remove qualified people from positions for not being white enough then we too can disappear people for free speech, have planes fall out of the sky, and also ignore what operational security is and lie about it because it’s going so well down there. He would have us join the us and then give away our natural resources for free, and have us follow their recession so long as it put money in his pockets.

    How very educated of you.

  • For a long while I thought America was a democracy but that the population was rather uneducated. Their media and culture seemed to glorify ignorance and shame intellectualism.

I now consider America a fascist state, early stages. I’ve seen too many simulations to know that the level of organized resistance required to prevent the descent into fascism is either too morally grey or too risky to be worth it. It must get much worse before resistance is meaningful.

At best an American is a victim, at worst they are a fascist.

  • It’s generally considered rude partly because of the possibly of food falling onto the ground, and also because it would incentivise the person to just drop the garbage after they’re done eating whatever as is often the case in America and Canada.

When food carts are set up they generally have garbage collection nearby of some sort. That said staying in one place and eating is approved of more. If you’re a foreigner you will get looks but a free pass in the sense of “ah we can’t expect a foreigner to ever understand our culture and expectations” which is a pitying position from what I’ve experienced here.
