  • I believe you have already seen the effects. The combine pressure have been building for years , from BDS, attempts to break the siege , unions and activists.

The change has come late , but not to late I believe. There are plenty of food and supplies rotting in trucks outside rafah. The mission is not to solve a genocide and starvation by a couple of tons of aid. The mission is to break the siege and establish an humanitarian corridor.

The amount of pressure put is forcing the hands of the EU countries and other countries.

Everyone onboard is very clear about objectives, risks and the torture that will be happening before and in Isrealis prisons. As well as imprisonment for an unknown amount of time.

We just believe it’s worse to risk not doing this at all.

Risks are accepted , suicide missions not.

I could not continue all the way unfortunately but my friends still onboard are not doing this in a whim. It’s a very clearly thought out decision for everyone.

And there is still a chance for the main objective to be reached. Less likely than interception but there is a chance.

Politically GSF and everyone involved is quite clear on different countries interests and actions. It’s not like an analysis of the situation wasn’t prepared and always updates according to current situation…

  • Call from the Trade Unionists on Board the Flotilla to Gaza

We, trade unionists from Switzerland, Belgium, France, Italy and Spain currently engaged in the Global Sumud Flotilla en route to Gaza, are launching this appeal to our comrades from trade union organizations across five continents. For several days, some have already been on their way, while others are preparing together, at the foot of the boats, driven by the same determination: to open a humanitarian corridor to Gaza, where the population is under blockade and being exterminated. The inhabitants are dying of hunger. On August 22, 2025, the UN officially declared a state of famine in Gaza. One in three children suffers from acute malnutrition, and every day, entire families die from deprivation organized by Netanyahu’s Israeli government. We refuse to remain spectators. Our boats carry food and emergency aid. Our objective is clear. Through legal and nonviolent action, we are moving to lift the siege, force the opening of a humanitarian corridor, and compel the Israeli authorities to allow land convoys loaded with vital supplies to pass. This is urgent! We believe that trade union organizations committed to the self-determination of peoples and to peace must express even more strongly their determination to stop the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

This requires expanding the number of trade union organizations that support the flotilla and actively work, by all possible means, to mobilize workers to ensure the safety of the flotilla and its participants. We call on our fellow union members around the world to join the call of the Genoa dockers’ union, which has led the way by stating that it would blockade the port if our ships were attacked. But now and without delay, we urge you to mobilize your unions to provide all concrete support to the flotilla and the accomplishment of its mission. This fight goes beyond us individually. It concerns our role as workers who keep the economy going. International law is being trampled underfoot. We have a duty to stop the ongoing genocide. If aid is prevented from reaching Gaza, if the flotilla is boarded, if we are abducted by the Israeli occupation forces, then we call on you to implement all necessary initiatives, including strikes, to exert pressure on the economy and force national and international authorities to finally act effectively. It is together, through the determination and solidarity of workers, that we will put an end to these crimes and impose the opening of a humanitarian corridor. The people of Gaza are calling on us for help. Let us all respond together!

  • Hi delays upon delays unfortunately. Working nonstop now. Will be a long day and night if I can’t get back to sleep. Really want things to get moving soon. Must get some 💤 now .

    Press Statement – September 9, 2025

    For Immediate Release

The Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) confirms that on September 9, another boat in our fleet - the “Alma” - was attacked by a drone as it was docked in Tunisian waters.

The boat, sailing under the British flag, sustained fire damage on its top deck. The fire has since been extinguished, and all passengers and crew are safe. An investigation is currently underway and when more information is available it will be released immediately.

This marks the second such attack in two days. These repeat attacks come during intensified Israeli aggression on Palestinians in Gaza, and are an orchestrated attempt to distract and derail our mission. The Global Sumud Flotilla continues undeterred.

Our peaceful voyage to break Israel’s illegal siege on Gaza and stand in unwavering solidarity with its people presses forward with determination and resolve.

  • Hi , so I still can’t update much more but to say we have been delayed. A lot of work do to here and amazing people to meet . Huge support from the locals here in Italy. The dockworkers union will stop all Isreal transports if any interference with the flotilla. As well as other actions from university groups and others.

When I applied for this my thoughts was that the likely outcome would be interception . Now I’m getting more and more hopeful that we will actually be able to go all the way to Gaza.
