I’d nominate him if he bombed the White House.
More positive selective pressure for microbial catabolic pathways?
I think you put it way better than I could!
When, after two decades of both major parties one-upping each other on how many immigrants they can deport, a police state suddenly and mysteriously materializes:
After Katrina, the news was full of stories of riots and looting, but the reality on the ground was that people were coming together to help each other out. Fascism needs state power and elite support to remain appealing; once that crumbles, the ones who survive are the ones who are capable of mutual support and cooperation. The crumbling’s gonna suck, but as everyone else is pointing out, things already suck.
Company that changed its content moderation policy to allow hate speech is also too lazy to add content filters for minors on its text generator.
That said, the problem is minors being allowed to access this thing in any way shape or form in the first place. Kids don’t need an adult-sounding text generator that tells them they’re smart, perfect, and always right even if that text generator is prevented from getting touchy.
Yeah, I feel like there’s a little bit more to unpack in the study they cite:
Between Sept 8, 2021, and March 9, 2022, 1443 patients underwent non-AI assisted colonoscopy before (n=795) and after (n=648) the introduction of AI (median age 61 years [IQR 45–70], 847 [58·7%] female, 596 [41·3%] male). The ADR [cancer detection rate] of standard colonoscopy decreased significantly from 28·4% (226 of 795) before to 22·4% (145 of 648) after exposure to AI, corresponding with an absolute difference of –6·0% (95% CI –10·5 to –1·6; p=0·0089).
So prior to the introduction of AI the success rate was 28% and after AI it dropped to 22%, so a six-point drop. Meanwhile, another study cited in the paper said that ADR went up 8 points using an AI tool. Also, while the sample of patients is large, the sample of doctors was small, only 14, and one had a 40% drop in ADR. There weren’t any control endoscopists who had never done AI to see if there’s some natural temporal variation or if the poor performer was just not eating his wheaties.
He’s setting the cops loose to beat the crap out of everyone but at least they won’t be able to use smelling like Joe Rogan’s recording studio as a justification.
How do you mess up growing a beard that badly?
Legit climate change accelerationism. The ghouls wanna cook us; there’s no other explanation.
People with complete AIS are still born with internal testes, so even though most people would consider them female, JK Rowling would label them male.
Too much melanin, the AI has been poisoned by woke
Ah, the age old dilemma:
“I’m getting my employees to work all the time so I can maximize the amount of surplus value I extract.”
“But if everyone is busy working, who is going to consoom my products?!”
That plus the free space in the upper right hand corner is how you know we’re playing expert-level bingo.
Zuckerberg lays out how he thinks this will work in the AI era: “If trends continue, then you’d expect people to spend less time in productivity software, and more time creating and connecting. Personal superintelligence that knows us deeply, understands our goals, and can help us achieve them will be by far the most useful.”
While ChatGPT’s goal is to become a “super assistant” that increasingly does more work on your behalf, Meta’s goal is to fill the free time you will theoretically get back. This strategy, while potentially dystopian, plays more to Meta’s core strengths: maximizing engagement and monetizing that engagement better than anyone else. This idea — that Meta wants to fill the free time created by productivity-focused AI — is what Zuckerberg and his deputies have been pitching more directly both internally and to recruits.
AI’s going to get your work done for you so you have more time to scroll through reels of OF models on Instagram.

How about it stops automatically installing updates and rebooting my system without permission?
I need to switch to Linux but that would require me to back up and probably attempt to organize my files.
