Just as a note. The Allied powers gave most nazis a pass. Only 24 people were judged in the trials of Nuremberg. Most people who voted for Hitler’s, even members of the Nazi party were not judged by it once they surrendered.
It was understood that most of them were probably not inherently evil, even when they were on the (very) wrong.
I would assume most republican voters would be the same. Most I know are on the wrong, but they are not inherently evil. They’ve been lied and manipulated, but deep inside they would probably just want to live happy peaceful lives like all of us.
Most people look back on Nazi Germany and see the populace as the Nazi scum they were. Most of the populace that wasn’t a victim, including the ones that voted against Nazism, deserve this treatment, as they did not do enough to stop it.
