Occasionally it strikes me as a little odd when Said asks about some detail that I think he should have been able to fill in by himself, but it’s no trouble: if I can spare the time (and it’s worth it), I’m usually happy to type up the requested additional explanation.

is there anything you do except type?

The normal way for people like Achmiz and Davis to reconcile their differences with a mod team is to set up their own forum, with hookers and beer, and entice the audience thither. But they both know it would be a sad empty shell of a place inhabited by those 2 windbags.

So which of you is running Said Achmiz’s account?

Reversing a diaspora only works if the diverse elements of the diaspora are allowed to participate in the repatriation. For example, the State of Israel’s legitimacy as a homeland for the Jewish people depends on its including all Jews as the concept has been historically and publicly understood. If a faction of Ashkenazi Jews seized power and arbitrarily decided that Sephardic Jews can’t be Israeli, that would seriously undermine the foundations of why many people supported the Zionist project in the first place.

Lol wow that is quite an argument to use. Made even worse by stuff like this

This is so gratuitous, and so irrelevant to the actual demographics of Israel (most Israeli are neither Ashkenazi nor Sephardi, which shouldn’t be a surprise if you’re vaguely aware of geography) that I have to wonder if this is meant as some sort of weird antisemitic dog whistle. Probably he couldn’t even say himself.

In any case, typical ignorance of Israel stans (and many critics sadly) who love to think of it as a white country.

I assume it is just the genetics/iq fanboying which leads them to think like this, not some weird antisemitic dogwhistle, not that philosemitism isn’t also a form of antisemitism via othering.

You show up, you put a ton of effort into a post, and at the end the comment section will tear apart some random thing that isn’t load bearing for your argument, isn’t something you consider particularly important, and whose discussion doesn’t illuminate what you are trying to communicate, all the while implying that they are superior in their dismissal of your irrational and dumb ideas.

That’s… the point of the place? It’s only superficially an intelligent place for discussion. A breeding ground for Neofascist, Technofeudalist excuses.

Exactly, they write super long winded posts because they are faintly mimicking the style of academic research, but they don’t evidence or sources to actually cite, so you end up with posts full of meandering analogies and jargon and then those bits are easy for someone to rip apart.

Man if only LW posters knew how to use the delete key to shorten their posts to only the load bearing parts, which they consider particularly important and who’s discussion illuminates what they were trying communicate. Alas.
