This is the real reason Americans aren’t allowed to have Chinese EVs. They would be attempting to watch The Avengers being projected onto the road while driving full speed down the highway.

The U.S. just recently allowed adaptive headlights, which automatically adjust their beam patterns to avoid blinding oncoming drivers. It’s a welcome development,

It’s not, this shit doesn’t work for anything that is not-a-car and even for cars it doesn’t work half the time but the people in them just assume it does. These systems suck ass

The headlights that are movie projectors also suck ass but for different reasons

Oh i thought it’d be something like, changing the angle of the lights or something

Ya i don’t use the automatic high beam thing because it’s just a little fucky, and it being automated you stop paying attention as much, and then you end up blinding someone when the car doesn’t register them and switch and you’re not paying attention

I did think it was kinda cool though until i realized how often it doesn’t work right

Some euro cars can selectively stop high beams from pointing at passing cars while keeping them on for the rest of the road but I’ve heard anecdotally that it’s not the most effective on the other drivers end.

yeah my gf’s car seems to detect headlights or something and then flip the high beams off in response but it just isn’t always super good at it

I had to keep this feature turned off because it would randomly flicker my brights on and off and upset cars I passed on the highway

American EVs can squish dozens of toddlers at the same time so honestly who’s to say who is making better cars

Just pull in behind an 18 wheeler & project it on the back of the trailer. You could even use adaptive cruise control & lane keeping assist so you can devote all of your attention to ignoring the movie and scrolling on your phone

This is a strategic move to kill the cinema industry. Every white wall is now a drive-in theater. Every Hollywood distributor in any country where these cars are sold is going to lose their lunch.
