Exactly, and BDO’s is actually really good. It’s a real-time system based on a smaller number of possible inputs that flow between each other to form more complex combos, instead of just having a shitton of unique separate skills that all have to be hotkeyed and have separate cooldowns and whatnot.

Exactly, there’s nothing to use it on and any complexity gets ruined by it then just revolving 100% around “bigger gear number = win”. It’s baffling how they struck gold so hard with designing the class kits and making this smooth, incredible combat system and then just completely shit themselves when it came to making things to do with it. Because there’s also PvP, but it’s all unequalized so again it’s just “bigger gear number = win” because those bigger number determine whether attacks that actively hit the target even “really” hit them or if they just get ignored and even tiny deltas make for huge advantages to one side.
