They called hakim a socdem???(like I agree he has some issues but this feels a bit far)
They consider China imperialist and said the USSR never achieved socialism and was capitalist actually. I thought these people only existed online.
They also said AES is a Brezhnevite revisionism and only 2 maybe 3 places have ever achieved socialism but didn’t say which ones.
I’ve only read Lenin, Marx, Mao, and Engels so maybe I’m just out of my depth and not understanding? Idk shit is wack what are y’alls thoughts?
My experience with “academic” self-proclaimed communists is somewhat similar. They’re always arguing over semantics or text and do very little in way of praxis or community work. I’ve met more radical self-proclaimed anarchists, that might not have the best interpretation of communism, but are actually out on the street doing shit.
Honestly, I’ve never had a good experience discussing communism with a white people. Too hung up on terminology, rigidly academic, or just brain wormed from decades of propaganda.
