It’s kind of on its last legs, my friend advised me to drive it as little as possible, but I won’t have to carry my fucking huge backpack everywhere anymore & I don’t have to freeze and be miserable anymore. Yay. Sucks about basically being fucking robbed by the fucking tow yard that “recovered” my car. I’m never getting it back, oh well.

tow yards are such a fucking scam. So is paid parking. Very few non-violent (afaik) entities command my ire like Standard Parking.
What the hell happened exactly with that tow yard anyway? Did they just straight-up bait and switch you?

they do this thing where even if the car was stolen, or other circumstances where the owner bears no fault, it often just gets taken to the same impound lot with all other towed vehicles, where it starts accumulating storage fees for every day it sits there.
So I had gotten a call from the police saying that my car had been recovered by an “outside agency” or whatever. This was our fuckface tow company. I called them and they said it would cost $309 to get my car out. I thought nothing of it and tried to fundraise the money to get my car out. A couple days to a week later someone miraculously sent me the money I needed. I called the tow company and they said it was going to cost $600-something, and an additional $30-something every day it’s in their yard. As of this writing it will probably cost me over a thousand fucking dollars to get my car out. Fucking. Vultures.
