I have continued my Kenshi antics, killing slavers and freeing everyone. I have most of the UC slave farms down now and finally finished my “I got the Phoenix” world tour and handed him to the Shek.

Also bashed through a lot of Jump Space with friends. 4p co-op mission-based PvE space FPS, think Deep Rock on a ship. Love it. Incredible pacing, honest. Could use some player progression, but I’m assuming that’s just the early-access-ness. If this is all that ever comes of it, I’ll still have gotten my money’s worth and would just think of it as a bit repetitive on the content. But fun as hell.

Tried Arc Raiders. Absolutely furious about it. Gamers suck. Thought this could be a learning moment for them since all meaningful loot comes from not-other-players, so the PvPvE should really lead to mostly PvE play and freeform team-ups, but gamers are gamers and deserve the gulag. It’s just another Tarkov; most players are pieces of shit. (Note: I have not gotten good, but the moral judgement stands.)

playing through mk11 a few weeks ago reminded me of bg3 because of all the cutscenes and some of the armor outfits, pretty weird connection to make between games, I never finished bg3 the other 2 times I played it, always drifted away around the beginning of act 3, I guess the act 2 ending already feels like a sort of full game experience lol, so this time I’ve been playing a Druid (land) wood elf which is a class I’ve always wanted to try, scouting around levels or backtracking solo as a kitty or a panther is fun, I’m also more familiar with the game and spell mechanics than before, also using the new subclasses for all 3 companions (giant barb Karlach, hexblade Wyll, death cleric Shadowheart), also using a mod that gives more in-game outfit/armor options to use for the camp clothing slots, so all together it feels like I’m playing a version 1.5 of the game with all these new things, I’m also delegating more things to the companions and the roleplay feels better than before, also sending out Astarion on some sneaky solo missions sometimes to thin out guards a bit and then flee, it’s not honor mode but i haven’t died yet either and I try to roll with all mistakes and choices, the new subclasses are strong, especially the barb giant thrower is a huge ranged damage dealer, pretty excited for the companion options in act 2, the music continues to impress, talking to animals never gets old, being in animal form is cool

    Mostly DnD. That counts right?

I’m still working through 100% every non-mmo final fantasy game. Yesterday I worked on FFII.

A friend wants to 100% Factorio together so I did the tutorial for that too.

I can already tell I’ll have fun with Factorio but it will mostly be my friend speedrunning for that 40hr achievement and I’ll just be along for the ride, lol.

I’ve always loved final fantasy but only every played in fits and starts. Figure no time like the present to fix that.

How are you liking Final Fantasy II? That game has been on my radar for a while, I’ve heard it’s good but a little rough around the edges.

I mean it’s old school final fantasy. I like the weapon based leveling system in theory but it’s not balanced and you see a very clear optimal choice quickly

Nice, I’m working on doing all of FF up to 6. I’m on 2 right now. It’s fun, but the grind on those older games gets to me. Second-screening it for sure.

What? You mean you don’t like seeing the same three square feet of the map for four hours as you try to get the Warmech?

Kids these days have no patience anymore ;)

I had a lot of fun with Dragon’s Dogma 2 this weekend, and safe to say, I suck at it, but I’m enjoying the clunkiness the game has. Beautiful designs, overly chatty characters and boss fights with up to 5 healthbars so far have not deterred me. It’s hell but it’s fun party-cat

For me, voices of the void. It had a new alpha update, v0.9.0, so I’ve been going through that. If you are going to try the game, keep in mind that it has a lot of easter eggs and random events that you might want to experience yourself for the first time. Keep external research limited to how to do the daily tasks (it is confusing, make sure to look it up for your version cause it has changed a lot), and also keep in mind that events start really slow.

For my wife, we are going through the Outer Wilds DLC. If you are going to try it or the base game, look up nothing, and you will appreciate the game fully.

I was playing a lot of Hades II, working on clearing the Night’s Champion challenge, but a new patch came out the other day that added new events leading up to and after the True Ending, and it kind of killed my motivation to keep playing tbh. I don’t really want to go back and redo the story for the stuff I missed, but I don’t want to just keep playing and never see it either… So I think I’m just gonna stop playing for a while and start over whenever I feel like it.

Otherwise I’ve been playing Wind Waker mostly. I also started Z.H.P. Unlosing Ranger vs. Darkdeath Evilman this morning, it’s a very silly Shiren the Wanderer style roguelike that’s inspired by tokusatsu. I’m enjoying it so far but I haven’t played much yet, I’m still in the tutorial dungeon.

Yeah… Like I appreciate that they are willing to keep working on and improving their game, and I still enjoyed it plenty up to this point, but it is kinda frustrating to wait like a year and a half for the game’s 1.0 release only for them to change things a month after the fact. Kinda makes me wish they had just kept it in early access for longer.

Started a new map in Workers and Resources: Soviet Republic.

I looked at a bunch of Mikrorayons on Google Maps and especially Prypiat to get that Soviet City Planning just right.

I also played a lot with efficient and realistic rail systems.

Showed my friend my new map yesterday and he called it beautiful and me autistic :( xD

I’ve been working on a Soviet themed project too… I’m making a Warsaw Pact themed save for Sims 4. Complete with ahistorical revolutions for those worlds that simply can’t pass as anything but their original intended location. I’ve been having lots of fun trying to map Sims 4 worlds onto the historical Warsaw Pact/Second World, and building “commieblocks” and brutalist styled public buildings… I even made a recolour of the ingame flag object. Sat down to make a single all-Union Soviet flag swatch, maybe an early Bolshevik flag as well, ended up making swatches for every SSR and every Warsaw Pact state that didn’t keep their socialist era flag basically the same after the dissolution, and then a little bonus set of the Warsaw Pact flag, an early Bolshevik revolutionary flag, and the current flag of Transnistria. (Which I won’t be using for this project, but by that point I just needed three more to round out my swatch number and I liked that better than a second variant of “early Russian revolutionary flags”.) I couldn’t find any historical flags of any sort, so I finally just made my own. (Later found a pack of communist flags on a Russian Sims site while looking for Lenin and Stalin portraits and authentic Soviet era furniture and such, made from the same base object, but mine’s more complete and I like my texture mapping better.)

Yes, I am Very Autistic about the USSR and the Warsaw Pact and the Cold War, and I like to use simulation games and political/strategy games to work through internal conflicts or to vent off the extreme edge of my communist tendencies before having to deal with liberal relatives for an extended period of time. (Honestly, I just want to make myself as a kid and plop him into a world where the Soviets won and the remains of the Western capitalist world are offscreen and not a threat. The timeline I should have been born in.)

At the rate they keep putting out new worlds I have to empty, evaluate the gameplay special purposes of, and remap onto The Socialist World In 1980 or at least my close-to-modern-day alternate timeline, it’ll probably never be “finished”. But making it is honestly the best part.

I’d never admit to this in most Sims forums, not until it was done, and then only if I decided to share it publicly. But here… you guys might not all know that game well, but I sure as hell won’t get any trouble for Doing Commie Shit.

holy smokes that sounds like the autism that gives you a good time when you set your mind to a silly project :D (that was meant in a nice way i’m almost jealous)

you gotta check out the game i mentioned in my initial comment if you want the true soviet politburo larp, and it’s got TONS of mods.

now i’m curious about your sims 4 map, can you share some pics? i can’t imagine how you’d depict such a thing in the sims.

Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom is possibly my new favorite 3D platformer. Definitely in the top 3. You play as a wind-up taxi and there is tons of movement tech. You mostly gain height by boosting off of ramps, but there is more that you learn to do.

But you do gain skills by learning. Within the first 5 minutes you technically have every tool you will ever get, you just don’t know how yet. In the style of Tunic, etc.

    More KSP, always more KSP.

Running KSP through proton is not only more stable than native Linux KSP, it’s also more stable than native Windows KSP.

I also played a little FF7R, after struggling to get my 8bitdo controller to actually be recognized by the game. What eventually worked was pointing steam at the exe that I installed through Lutris so the steaminput could figure it out.

WoD as GM’d by one of my regular players. He did a damn sight better than I did when I tried running a WoD adventure but then again I had only been playing TTRPGs for a year at that point.

Otherwise I’ve been screwing around with Emulators

still going through BG3 with my partner and brothers, but that’s been on hold for a week while a few of us are out of town. Jumped back into helldivers 2 for a bit, and having a ton of fun. performance is still janky, but better than it was, and i’m having more fun killing bots than I ever had before. aside from getting stunlocked into a ragdoll loop on occasion.

i tried bf6 “redsec” or whatever the fuck its called and really it just makes me want to play bf6 more, but i’m not at a point where i can drop $70 on a game that i won’t adore as much as i want to.

Also running through The Quarry for the first time with my partner. We finished chapter 1 and maybe even chapter 2? i’m digging it!

I keep restarting in WR:SR. Trying a map of Cuba I grabbed from the Steam Workshop this time. Without the need to worry about heat plants, a lot of opportunities open up. I skipped the indoor pool to build a soccer field for once.

Accidentally had about 70 people move in early, but I was able to manage water/sewage by truck until the plumbing was finished.

Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic, the infamously difficult city builder themed after the eastern bloc countries.

There are a few maps on the steam workshop where you can build in a Cuban map instead of eastern europe, though you’d probably have to grab several dozen other mods to add more Cuba-specific assets.

I’ve been playing it a lot too, and I’ve been surprised by how friendly everyone has been. During the server slam, it felt like everyone was out for blood.
