A bit over a month ago, a user posted in !main@sh.itjust.works to propose defederating from maga.place. That post was followed by a discussion in !agora@sh.itjust.works a week ago, which seems to have gained some traction. In response, we’re going to hold a vote on the matter. Voting will be open for one week, through Friday, November 7.

The Agora discussion post is here:
https://sh.itjust.works/post/48420886

Only sh.itjust.works accounts created prior to today (October 31) may cast a vote.

Vote by commenting either yes/aye/oui or nay/no/non.

Any further discussion should happen in the Agora post linked above.

By my count, that’s 363 YES vs 43 NO.
    That’s out of 416 top-level local comments.
The keen eyed will notice a discrepancy of 10 votes which were not counted by the query.

Those were not counted for not being in the keyword list:

    • either yes/aye/oui or nay/no/non."
    • Abstention. I don’t believe I’ve ever in…
    • Ye…
    • You betcha!..
    • I have 0 clue I just want to feel specia…
    • I have no objection to seeing less polit…
    • YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSS!!!..
    • Absolutely…
    • Absolutely …

There’s also a duplicate yes vote from the same person_id, which I’ve removed.

202 comments weren’t even votes, the discussion goes in the other thread, folks.
24 comments from remote accounts were removed.

    That about sums it up.

    Yes

I’ve seen really good “no” positions and I think they have some great reasoning even though they’re against the MAGA gang. Thank you to those who are thinking logically and of others. My vote is more emotional due to I just can’t weigh out the options anymore and I’m just done with it all. To others point, I have just blocked them and did reasoning before that… it shouldn’t be this hard to be decent to one another. I hope they find happiness without hate.

No. I believe that the ability to hear disenting voices is important to either challenge or strengthen your own opinions.

No. Ill be the counter argument. Dont know anything about them, but I like our instance for being relatively neutral. As long as the other instance isnt doing anything illegal, i’d prefer neutrality.

    no

just becasue we silence them doesn’t mean they dont exist

i dont believe in silencing anyone unless they are actively hurting someone else. And I didnt join lemmy to have my content censored. we are all (presumably) adults.
