President Donald Trump on Monday reiterated that he is “allowed” to pardon Jeffrey Epstein’s co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell but told reporters that no one has asked him to issue one to her.
When asked on Monday if he would ever consider a pardon for Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year federal prison sentence for child sex trafficking and other crimes, Trump told reporters: “Well, I’m allowed to give her a pardon, but I — nobody’s approached me with it. Nobody’s asked me about it. It’s in the news about that, that aspect of it, but right now, it would be inappropriate to talk about it.”
Do it. Once pardoned she loses all protections. She can’t plead the 5th and shut down. She gets subpoenaed and forced to talk anyway.

Many have. He’s too stupid to listen to them, then fires them when he doesn’t like what they say.
Is he just saying that because he can’t resist an opportunity to assert his power? Or is there some 4D chess thing going on in his head according to which pardoning her (or even drawing attention to the possibility of pardoning her) helps him? It seems like such a bad idea to me that I can’t imagine what he’s thinking.
This is him subtly broaching the topic so that people get used to the idea, so when he does it, it’s not a shock. Because he’s allowed to, so it can’t be bad…
