I don’t think any distro only ships with vim anymore. Even Debian, Gentoo, and Arch include nano.
Arch does? I thought you had to choose a text editor when installing with pacstrap? Unless you mean the iso?
The only time I have to use Vim these days is on minimalist images like Alpine or Amazon Linux.
