Canadians avoiding travel to the United States and banning American alcohol are among the reasons U.S. President Donald Trump thinks the country is “nasty” to deal with, the U.S. ambassador to Canada said Monday.

For over 100 years we were the best of allies

It took weeks for him to throw all of that away.

You don’t declare “economic warfare” on your friends. You don’t threaten to annex them, tell them they’re not a viable country, tell them they’re destined to fall, and still expect friendship.

And it’s not just Trump to blame. The voters and the entire US government have allowed that behaviour and enabled him.

If they’re getting upset about our boycotts that just means boycott even harder. They said they don’t need us, now they can see what that’s like.

Every single person who let crickets be the only response is just as culpable as Drumpfkins. That’s the vast majority of the country. Fuck em. They can have their fascism. Should they come for us many will be waiting.

Americans, it’s your country. If you want a fascist dictatorship, that’s your business. You want to deport innocent people, that’s your business. You want trade tarrifs, that’s your business. You want Canada to be the 51st state, that’s my business. I’ll show you just how nasty we can be.

As an American, very well said. Please don’t stop. We are going to hell in a handbasket, please dont join us. The grave our foreparents dug and one current generations keep on digging, it is entirely fair to spit on us in our grave and not be drug in.

It’s not that we’re sensitive. But if you know any Canadian history, what Americans laud as ‘manifest destiny’ has always been a threat to Canada. Hell it’s the reason Canada exists in the first place. So it’s not like Trump just pushed one of our buttons. Unknowingly, he pushed the button.

Pete Hoekstra was the one who told a bunch of lies about “no go zones” in the Netherlands, then called it “fake news” when he was called out on his lies, then minutes later called it fake news that he ever called the first thing fake news. Just like Trump, he lies even when everyone can see plainly that he’s lying.
