I don’t know why I still have a (banned) account, or why it’s subscribed to EngineeringStudents, but look at this.

I know this is just another metastasis of wage labour, but I just feel contempt for these people. Like, your issue isn’t with engineering being a shithead profession with nothing of value and just endless upsell! upsell! upsell! lie! lie! lie! bullshit! bullshit! bullshit! but instead you cry over not finding a job in this shitstorm. To be honest, I also feel contempt for my colleagues… probably for the same reason; because they enjoy mucking about in this pigsty too.

    They tend to do the bare minimum and push a huge amount of technical decision making onto the lower level drafters and designers

      We had one running things when I started where I’m at and thank God I was able to push them out. Just an absolutely awful person to work with and a Disney adult to boot.

      I noticed that they kept presenting all my work as their own to the owners of the small company, so I started drafting up documention of my work for the owners and giving that to them, then telling that Engineer what I’d done.

      Lo and behold, the owners come to me a day later asking why the Engineer was presenting something that I had shown them beforehand as their own work. Luckily they sided with me and I was allowed to challenge them on basically everything going forward and they were gone within a month.
