Did you also know Microsoft (Blizzard’s parent company) also supplies AI used in the killing of innocent Palestinians?

Well, shoot. I’m still boycotting Blizzard because they banned a player from tournament play over voicing support for the Hong Kong protests. Now I need to boycott them for an entirely different humanitarian reason? Good thing they don’t make good games anymore or I’d be kind of upset.

      Broke: giving blizzard money
      Woke: boycotting blizzard
Bespoke: playing overwatch without buying anything so they have to pay for more servers

Their stock valuation, their paying customers, and therefore their success all depend on active players. Playing the game supports the game.

I don’t think their success depends on non-paying customers. Like yeah, you populate the servers but as long as there are a few hundred whales that can play against each other, they won’t care. It’s been apparent for a while now, look at how long the queue time is for top players, yet they still play it.

Oh and was it Respawn that had an interesting moment where they got mad at “freeloaders”? F2P games are very much at the mercy of monetization, aka paying customers (unless they’re also selling your data which they probably are).
