They pretty recently posted a video duetting the maybe later kiddo video where they put on the same outfit and humorously apologized for the video. It seems to me like they’d be fine with how it’s used here.
I’ve been low key critical of it for a long time. No matter how cringe someone is, if it’s an ordinary person and they’re young, we shouldn’t hold onto it for too long. There’s some indication it was meant to be ironic from the start too. Either way, plenty of people have cringe politics from when they were young that they’d prefer be forgotten, there’s gotta be a statute of limitations on that, right?
Not everyone is stupid and reactionary in as public a way with as large of a following as that person, the mockery is totally deserved. Being reactionary “ironically” has never been an excuse.
If they have reformed then they will understand the way we use that emoji and the evil that lies within it.

They only got that following because of people watching them for the cringe, no? If so many people laugh at someone that they become widely known, it seems kind of circular to say, “Well, since they have a large following it’s ok to laugh at them.”
There are much more deserving targets imo.

They both appear to have made the jump to xhs though lol
