  • There’s a lot of good advice here. I recently went from doing the Busy Dad Burpee Program to a more well rounded (but admittedly far more time consuming) routine using rings and bodyweight.

The Busy Dad Program was 20 minutes, as many 6 count military style burpees as you can muster, alternate with Navy Seal burpees, same deal. Very time efficient, and it trains your pushup to failure, and also your cardio and legs somewhat well. But no pulling, and no intense legs nor core. Hence why I went for a more well rounded routine.

    My current routine is:

    • Warmup with L sits/Handstand practice, Hollow Body, bridging work.
    • 5x5 Ring Pullups
    • 5x5 Ring Dips
    • 5x5 Ring Rows
    • 5x5 Ring Pushups
    • 5x5 Hamstring Curls on Rings
    • 5x5 Nordic Curls
    • 5x5 Bulgarian Split Squats
    • 5x5 Dumbell Squats or Deadlifts

Plus 1 to 2 hours of stretching upper and lower body following Tom Merrick videos on YouTube.

I do this 2-3 times a week, and on off days I still stretch and do jump rope and core work/handstand/lsit practice.

Its still very time consuming, but perhaps you could find some movements or ideas here that you could scale down in terms of volume.

I actually do think the Busy Dad Program was a good program for time efficiency, but it is very incomplete in terms of various aspects of health and fitness IMHO.

Anyways, hope this gives you some ideas.

  • I’ve dome Ashtanga and Hatha Yoga. Hatha is the most accessible, though there’s a huge range in quality and difficulty in classes and it depends on the instructor.

Don’t bother with Ashtanga unless you’re very fit and flexible. I’ve never done Bikram/Hot Yoga, but check it out if it interests you (I’d personally try Hatha first).

Anyways, imho, yes, Yoga is worth it, but it obviously isn’t for everyone. Most classes I’ve been to have a meditative and mild spiritual aspect to it while building balance, moderate strength, and of course, flexibility.

I’ve always been an active person in various disciplines in the past including bicycling, running, strength training, calisthenics, and court sports. Yoga has always been a nice experience in the way it incorporates meditation with movement and stretch, and it complements many other disciplines nicely.

  • The funding of ICE doesn’t mean that the military, ICE, FBI, etc. outnumber the American civilian population, obviously. Now, this doesn’t mean that the American citizens are united nor organized nor ideologically aligned, also obviously. And yeah, this is Nazi America. What a lot of doomers fail to point out is that Nazi Germany didn’t last forever. And neither will Nazi America. The tragedy of Nazism is multifaceted, but one of those many tragedies is if you just want to live a regular life, you don’t have a choice but to fight, either for or against fascism. They force you to choose a side, and then you’re in it.

And yeah, the time for mass death on the streets of America instigated by its own government on its own people is here. It is already happening. It has sadly been happening for far longer than most think. It’s just a lot more overt now. People make fun of the Leopard’s eating right wingers faces. But truthfully, if you’re surprised by any of what’s going on right nowin the US or any capitalist country, then the Leopard has been eating all of our faces.

The Military will for the most part comply and murder, torture, imprison, and enslave their own mothers, daughters, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters etc.

And then there will just simply be one too many deaths, one too many suicides, one too many rapes, one too many genocides.

And yeah, more violence will ensue as there is a purge of fascists, and hopefully, this time, unlike after the civil war, we hang the traitors, topple their monuments, and defecate on their graves.

And then climate catastrophes will wipe out all humans except those that live closer to the poles. And then we will revert back to a more primitive way of life for better and provably far worse. And perhaps then the anthropocene will mercifully end, and humans will finally just go fucking extinct.

So it will all be not okay and then really not okay and throughout most of the ensuing century and a half, most, if not all, of us will die.

The thing most people are struggling with right now is that they haven’t transitioned from the privileged viewpoint that the big question in life is choosing “how do you want to live?”, when the only actual choice you have is “how do you preserve your choice of how you are going to die?”

Essentially, the only choice you have is to preserve your right to find your hill to die on, then stare death in the fucking face as you go. Cuz eventually even that choice will be taken from you, so take advantage now like its a fire sale on the last remaining freedom.

    Enjoy all these positive vibes.

  • From South Park: Episode 608: Red Hot Catholic Love

Priest Maxi: Uh-yes, uh, I’m afraid if things keep going the way they are, we could lose our entire religion.

Elderly priest: Yes, we’ve gotta stop these boys from goin’ to the public!

Fat priest: They’ve gotta know to keep their mouths shut!

    Other priests: That’s right, yeah.

Priest Maxi: Right, and so… wa- wait a minute. What?

Priest: Yes, but we’ve got to find out why these children are suddenly finding it necessary to report that they’re being molested. Stop the problem at its source.

    Priest 2: Yes, but how?

Priest 3: [amid discussion] Something has to be done.

Priest 4: We’ve got to stop this-

Priest Maxi: [rising] Whoa, whoa, hold on a second! The problem is that children are being molested, not that they’re reporting it! [all fall silent]

Elderly priest: How do you mean?

Priest Maxi: Well, I mean, obviously, what we need to put a stop to is all the sexual misconduct that is allowed to take place in our churches, and not just tell the children not to tell anybody about it. I mean, right?

Priest 1: Well did any of the children you’ve molested come forward?

    Priest Maxi: No.

    Priest 1: Well, that’s good.

Priest Maxi: No, I mean! I’ve never molested any of the children in my church!

Elderly priest: Hih-it’s okay, Father Maxi. We’re all priests here; the doors are closed.

Priest Maxi: Oh for the love of God! Are you all saying that you’ve engaged in inappropriate relations with your altar boys? We are here to bring the light of God, not harm the innocent! [the other priests look at him and laugh] I’m serious!

Priest 2: Father, uh, having sex with boys is part of the Catholic priest’s way of life.

  • TLDR; I’m vehemently agnostic.

I believe that if there is a “God” entity, that it is incomprehensible and not worth attempting to understand.

I also don’t believe in an anthropocentric “God”, in that “God” doesn’t inherently value nor not value humans as somehow special nor damned. I also don’t believe “God” cares nor doesn’t care about humans or existence.

I also don’t believe in inherent meaning, nor that there is some form of divine justice. Those are human lenses through which we interpret the world, and are unlikely to apply (at least in the same way as a human) to the supposed viewpoint of an eternal omniscient omnipotent entity that created the universe and will supposedly one day close the door on time and its own existence.

In short, I’m one bleak motherfucker and it doesn’t matter if “God” exists or not. Either way, I don’t get to survive death. What is eternal about me is inherently not a part of me. It is mortality, true mortality, mortality of the consciousness and the ego and the individual that defines the individual. When that dies, "God” or not, either way there is no individual to somehow surpass death.
