In my opinion, there appears to be a societal trend towards more egoistical behaviour in people. Whereas in the past, more people strived to work for their greater community and society (at least here in Europe), in the last couple of years American individualism and with that, a more egoistic focus became more prevalent. Many people today wonder why they should give their time freely when they could use it for other interests, paid employment, or (quality) alone time. Even disregarding that some of their hobbies can only be done because others still volunteer their time (sports coaches, etc.).

The “I want to use my spare time for myself” attitude is one of the most heard answers when I am asking people why they won’t join us in volunteer work (be it community work or sports).

I can’t speak for wherever the original commentator ist from. In Germany most youth centres were partly or completely volunteer run. There are fewer people volunteering today, so the centres don’t find enough people to open up or supervise events/gatherings. And at some point then they’re closing forever.

On that note, looking for a volunteer group near you is also an awesome way to socialise.

Ich kann hier sehr offene Quellen zur Inneren Führung empfehlen, da das Konzept damals als Teil einer öffentlichen Debatte erarbeitet und seitdem verfeinert wurde.

Grundsätze der Inneren Führung sind unter anderem der Staatsbürger in Uniform, also, dass Soldaten in Deutschland die selben Rechte und Pflichten haben wie jede:r andere Deutsche:r und keinen Sonderstatus genießen.

Außerdem setzt die Innere Führung Grenzen für Befehle und Gehorsam und verlangt eine individuelle Abwägung. Teil des Ganzen ist auch das Konzept der “Führung mit Auftrag”. In der Regel wird kein kleinteiliger Befehl ausgegeben, sondern ein Auftrag, der dann in seinem Rahmen selbstständig von den Soldaten im Einklang mit dem geltenten Recht und seinem Gewissen selbstständig ausgeführt wird. Dadurch wird eigenständiges Denken und Handeln der Soldaten gefördert und sturem Gehorsam Einhalt geboten. Führen mit Auftrag hat außerdem den Vorteil, das die Bundeswehr flexibeler agieren kann und ein Auftrag durchaus auch diskutiert werden kann.

Du meintest wahrscheinlich eher eine Sandwüste, wobei das irrelevant für die Solarpanelherstellung ist. Silizium wird aus Quarzsand gewonnen, da gibt es in Deutschland große erschlossene Vorkommen und Europa hat noch viel viel weitere.

I do have the same experience. My social circle is very much open, tolerant and absolutely hates what the GOP in America and right leaning/right wing parties in Europe are doing and proposing. I know almost no young people that support strong conservative or right leaning policy and talking points. I am however also in contact with a different group of people (through my countrys military/military reserve), that very much leans into those right talking points and favours more conservative policy.

If you can, engage with them and try to understand them and help them understand your point.

You should look at it through a more utilitarianism POV. If your country gets invaded, not only do you loose your way of life, culture and society get impacted to the point where you won’t be able to continue as normal, but the environmental destruction of war in your own country far outweighs what the gerontocratic part of your society does today. You only have to look to Ukraine for that.

So it might be more advantageously to voluntarily undergo military training, so that in the event of an invasion you can try to defend your way of life and continue to strive for a more equal and environmental conscious society after the war is over.

You’re absolutely not too old to join the Bundeswehr. Depending on your life situation you could opt to do a FWD (voluntary military service) for at least 7 months or be trained as untrained civilian in the “Ungedient” programme in distinct blocks to not impact your day to day life so much. I would advise to contact your local recruitment office and talk to them, you can get their guidance on your individual situation without signing any commitments.

So einfach kannst du die Rechnung allerdings nicht machen. Als Soldat zahlt man wesentlich weniger Abgaben auf sein Bruttogehalt. Die ganze Familie profitiert von der unentgeltlichen ärztlichen Truppenversorgung. Zusätzliche Standardzulagen, je nach Arbeitsbereich stärker/weniger stark ausgeprägt, kommen ebenfalls dazu. Rein vom Finanziellen würde ich nicht sagen, dass man als “Berufseinsteiger” bei der Bundeswehr schlechter wegkommt.

Die größten Probleme als Offizier bei der Bundeswehr sind (mMn) seit jeher die regelmäßige Versetzung deutschlandweit und die dadurch häufige räumliche Distanz zur Familie, was im modernen Verständnis von Arbeit die Lebensqualität stark einschränkt. Solange da nicht dran gearbeitet wird, oder die monetären Anreize deutlich steigen, bleibt das Bild wahrscheinlich, wie es aktuell ist.

Ich finde es tatsächlich nicht schlecht und es ist wenigstens ein konstruktiver Vorschlag. Im Zivilschutz hinken wir auch massiv hinterher und das würde Möglichkeiten eröffnen.

Besser als das CDU/SPD Geklüngel ist es allemale.
