MSM is doing it on purpose. Intentionally arguing on the administration’s frivolous terms, legitimizing them instead of discrediting them.

The same way they are doing it with the bombing of Venezuelan boats. Instead of denouncing the crime that they are committing extrajudicial killings, they are instead focusing attention on the fact that they do not even know if the boats are carrying drugs, legitimizing the claim that the government can blow up boats that have drugs on board, which is incorrect.

It is by design, things are running as they always have been.
