Android Auto doesn’t work by the car having android in it. It’s a connector that allows android phones to display the Android Auto UI on the cars infotainment.

Also, with modern cars, android is probably the least of your worries.

It will likely be disabled during driving but it’s still a great thing. I got a big screen in my car, I was always annoyed that I couldn’t use it to watch YouTube videos when charging. This might help with that.

Edit: Actually says in the article that those features will on work while the car is parked.

For real. I was watching them too much, installed a browser addon that hides the shorts button and disabled them in revanced. Usage went to 0 and I don’t miss them.

Bei Instandhaltung gibt es jetzt schon drölf Sicherheitsmechanismen die verhindern, dass ein Zug versehentlich auf eine Schiene fährt. Was lässt dich glauben, dass diese mit Automation plötzlich nicht mehr funktionieren?

Und dass Dispatch einen Fehler machen kann ist doch überhaupt sogar ein Argument dafür. Das bedeutet, dass etwas manuell von einem Menschen gesteuert ist und somit Fehleranfällig.

Menschen machen sehr viel mehr Leichtsinnsfehler als Automation. Bei Automation wird ein gravierender Fehler in den meisten Fällen genau einmal gemacht. Bei menschlichem Versagen immer wieder.

Beides ist auch ohne Automation ein Problem. Bäume sieht man viel zu spät um dafür zu bremsen, Züge haben sehr viel mehr Bremsweg als Sichtweite. Und Menschen sollen sich da nicht aufhalten. Ich weiß, ist makaber, aber wer sich am Gleis aufhält ist selbst Schuld.

Auf der Autobahn sagt auch niemand was gegen selbstfahrende Autos weil sich da ja Menschen aufhalten könnten.

Das stimmt schon. Deshalb sind Bahnübergänge wichtig, da kann mit entsprechender Wahrscheinlichkeit tatsächlich etwas auf den Gleisen sein was ein Problem verursachen kann.

Aber außerhalb von Bahnübergängen? Wo ist da das Problem?

Was heißt denn abgeschottet? Bahnübergänge müssen halt gesichert und Videoüberwacht werden, aber beim Rest? Wenn was auf den Gleisen ist dann ist das da halt nicht lange…

Thank you! Honestly, all I’m trying to do is have it play some music in rooms, control lights and create timers during cooking. I was hoping whisper would be enough for that and I can get the 4s response time down with running it on a ryzen chip than the green.
