

Sometimes I say that there are “nice photos” and “good photos”. A nice photo is usually one which is technically good (focus, sharpness, composition, post processing etc.) and it’s pleasant to look at. Properties of good photos are much more difficult to nail down because they often break “rules” intentionally and they’re so varied… but they make you feel and/or think.
And the “best” part? I’ve sometimes checked what happened to the godawful bosses that literally bankrupted promising companies and were all kinds of incompetent assholes… well, they got into bigger and bigger companies! I’m sure they’re doing stellar job there too… why would they otherwise be paid big bucks? We’re playing a rigged game and pretending it makes sense… and we’re supposed to accept that that’s “just how the world works”.
