The combination of NBA and NHL playoffs is my favorite sports time od the year. So many entertaining games to watch right now
The United States is incapable of doing anything as it relates to infrastructure.
There are 10 different grifts of contractors required for any given job, they source all their shit from China, and they subcontract the labor out later.
The US has hit a critical mass of public-private “partnership” devolution
Do you play games with anticheat (check the website areweanticheat) that would stop you from moving over?
Do you use software (adobe suite) that would stop you from moving over? Come up with any “these must work” applications and check if people have success running them.
If you can get last these two points and were willing to go through all you went through in this post- you can and should switch for your own sanity.
Feel free to ask more probing questions if you have them and I and others would probably be glad to answer.
I keep this updated and it should be stickied in the games com
This week it was a whole lot of Star of Providence. This game makes me feel like I did when I played the original Binding of Isaac the first time. It’s great.
Team Fortress 2 as always for my comfort food. No end in sight for this one. Valve recently made TF2 source available which is cool and has led to some community fixes as well as people (hopefully soon) publishing their whole ass mods to steam (Team Fortress 2 Classic being the one I’m most interested in).
I downloaded and setup Horizon XI on linux in anticipation of some users possibly playing from here. I’ve never played before but played other brutally difficult/grindy MMOs in my youth (Tibia) so I’m sure it’ll be up my alley if others do end up playing.
I’ve been wanting to play the Defiance reboot since that game strikes me as an intriguing jankfest, but proton has issues with how winsock is implemented so I can’t actually play yet unfortunately. Maybe that gets resolved soon since it seeks like people have triaged the problem fairly well.
I tried Daemon X Machina which I was hoping might scratch the PSO itch and instead found a game with the campiest and worst writing/VA combo I can remember encountering. It was given away free on EGS a while back so check it out if you want to see something incredible. Actual gameplay is quite fun if not a bit easy currently.
I bought hellochinese premium and it has been worth it FYI. Just the normal tier jit the plus tier. I imagine you’ll run into the pay gate soon and would want input. It seemingly goes on sale every black Friday in the US
It’s obviously horseshit that this is even a thing, but 2.9k endorsements on a game that just came out with basically no mods outside of reshade presets and .ini tweaks means only the most deranged fucking losers are even looking at this right now, and it wouldn’t surprise me if there are organized campaigns of incel reactionaries who organize to always endorse shit like this on nexusmods.
Nexusmods has its issues, but they’re pretty decent about removing anti-lgbtq content historically and don’t really play around with the dumbest of bad-intent abstractions like “it’s actually just restoring the game to its original intention.” It wouldn’t surprise me to see this “mod” get nuked fairly soon and then a 2 day media circus led by the rat lord himself about censorship in media or some bullshit.
In short, I love my trans comrades
This isn’t an exhaustive list so there may be a private server not listed here but it’s possibly of interest to you anyway.

Cyberpunk being a RedEngine (I actually like this engine) game limited the pool of potential modders somewhat because it’s a single-studio engine without a history of modding (there are a few large/complex Witcher 3 mods but as far as I’m aware it’s a few custom user-created quest chains that are supposedly really good- I’ll try to find the name later). CyberMP seems to be cracking this fairly wide open (it’s a GTAV RP-like modding framework that adds multiplayer) that’s pushing the current limits of RedEngine modding.
I haven’t extensively looked into changes of GameBryo from Fallout 4 to Starfield but from what little I’ve read adapting tooling hasn’t been especially painful, it’s just that the base player interest from potential Starfield modders seemed really low due to disinterest with the game/its setting at launch.
I think a fantasy setting with tooling and lessons learned that will hopefully continue to be built up from the Morrowind -> Oblivion -> Fallout 3 -> New Vegas -> Fallout 4 -> Starfield will have a better chance at catching that Skyrim modding spark again, but I will admit a lot of this is equal parts “here are some rational reasons why I think it will happen” and “shit it’d just be dope if it did and I really want it to.”
This is why China seemingly has the most practical approach to all of this.
Bring religion under the eye of the state so that it’s incapable of manifesting its most destructive tendencies into reality and use that surveillance to quickly identify it and deradicalize if it happens.
Address the needs of community, mutual aid, and more broadly hope that religion satisfies at its best and work to provide that through the state. Allow the religiously-inclined to still practice while preventing opportunists who seek to use it against the broader interests of the people.
I’m more excited about the release of a game that has a large and established modding community and what they’ll do with that new platform than the game itself.
I genuinely did not enjoy Skyrim at release- modded Skyrim is one of my favorite games ever.
The talent in the broader Bethesda modding community is beyond impressive and they’ve had years to refine tooling/interop that I think will result in another modded game that will, hopefully, reach the same heights to me as previous works.
Genuinely thanks so much for this. I’ll give the game another go soon with this information.
My primary mistake seems to have been focusing enemy shields over weapons. I tried to sparingly use missiles but probably not enough.
I’ll keep the early upgrade timing in mind as well and the tip about disabling/shifting before certain shot types his is extremely helpful.
Thanks again.
Primarily Greece and Turkey if Wikipedia is to be believed. I just remember thinking its tombs were more fun than 2013 or Shadow, but it’s been a long time since I’ve played it.
The sequel to that game (Rise of the Tomb Raider) is the best in the reboot trilogy imo. Give it a shot once you’ve got nothing you want to play in front of you.
Can you give me some early FTL tips? I’ve tried to get into that game a few time but my suspicion is I’m taking way too many engagements because I’m always too poor/out of ammo/eventually die. I seek to get annihilated by a bunch of the random chance decision stuff too.
I know I’m approaching the game wrong somehow hut don’t really understand what I’m doing wrong.
I got Friday off so I went no-life with some college friends and played about 20 hours of Rematch (new 5v5 street soccer game in beta) this weekend. It ends sometime tomorrow and is the most fun game I’ve played in years (Rocket League being the last time I had this much fun with a game).
I have SL1 dark souls runs in my “some day” category. Congratulations.
What were some of the most challenging moments?
Where are you at in MHFU?
Increasingly obvious post but on the off chance it saves someone- look up right now, to the extent that you can, where military bases near you are and if one is remotely close, ask friends and family, right now, if you can stay with them. You’d have to feel out how safe/unsafe travel currently is.
Stay safe comrades
