  • I never should’ve listened to the people who said I needed to get karma. I survived 2 days doing nothing, but the second I listened to them, I got banned. I would’ve rather kept my 0 karma than get banned at 28 karma.

I wouldn’t mind having a “Reddit Refugee Camp” here for all the people who’ve been banned for seemingly no reason. Make the description “If Reddit kicked you out, come here. We’re all refugees together”. I hear it can take months or even years to get a response to an appeal, so yikes.

Also, some Reddit users can be really mean. I simply asked for advice on how to grow my community and explained that I was doing it just for fun. People started saying I was advertising and that Reddit users don’t like that, or even suggesting that I could be working for the company to promote it and get paid. I’m like, I’m literally doing this on my own, in my free time, because I enjoy it. They really didn’t need to be so mean about it. 😭

  • Yeah, when I started using Reddit three days ago (my account was 1 month old), my goal was to make a fun environment for the people that watch the streams. I was going to start by making Q&A-style posts so people who watch the streams could search for them in their browser and find the information easily. I’m not sure if Lemmy.world shows up in search results the same way Reddit does, but I was happy to find a similar site. I’ll just try my best not to look like a bot on here (not too active). 😅
