Yeah that’s what I was doing on Reddit. I assumed it would be like any other platform building from scratch. I did one post a day third day got banned lol. Hopefully this site doesn’t ban people for posting 5 hours later or whatever.
Yeah I’m trying not to post a lot. I’ll prob start doing once a couple days or something. I’m used to yt, insta and so forth which is you spam to keep the algorithm working. This is a new level of patience lol.
Does the down vote hurt anything? On Reddit I made a comment going “dang Reddit doesn’t let you delete your community”. I got -5 so deleted it 😂.

Is reddit using ai to moderate because wow it is trash. I haven’t been banned on social media until last night and it honestly made me so upset lol. How many communities can one person make on here?

I never should’ve listened to the people who said I needed to get karma. I survived 2 days doing nothing, but the second I listened to them, I got banned. I would’ve rather kept my 0 karma than get banned at 28 karma.
I wouldn’t mind having a “Reddit Refugee Camp” here for all the people who’ve been banned for seemingly no reason. Make the description “If Reddit kicked you out, come here. We’re all refugees together”. I hear it can take months or even years to get a response to an appeal, so yikes.
Also, some Reddit users can be really mean. I simply asked for advice on how to grow my community and explained that I was doing it just for fun. People started saying I was advertising and that Reddit users don’t like that, or even suggesting that I could be working for the company to promote it and get paid. I’m like, I’m literally doing this on my own, in my free time, because I enjoy it. They really didn’t need to be so mean about it. 😭
Yeah I was doing that and trying to get karma but Reddit saw me is a bot. Hopefully I don’t get flagged here.
Yeah, when I started using Reddit three days ago (my account was 1 month old), my goal was to make a fun environment for the people that watch the streams. I was going to start by making Q&A-style posts so people who watch the streams could search for them in their browser and find the information easily. I’m not sure if Lemmy.world shows up in search results the same way Reddit does, but I was happy to find a similar site. I’ll just try my best not to look like a bot on here (not too active). 😅

I feel you I got shadowbanned on Reddit last night. Had no warning whatsoever. I didn’t know posting in other communities and commenting on posts would flag spam and I get well banned. Have noticed people use the downvote more on here than Reddit.
Yeah I’m still in a Reddit headspace where they don’t like explaination posts. I’m trying to figure this website out I’ve looked at the getting started doc and then thought to check this community see if there’s questions and stuff.
They banned me 2 days ago. I didn’t do anything wrong. I guess being active made me seem like a bot. They’re strict and it’s annoying. I appealed but I doubt I’ll ever get my account or community back.
