Despite all my rage I’m still a rat refreshing this page.

I use arch btw

Credibly accused of being a fascist, turbolib, commie, anarchist, child, boomer, pointlessly pedantic, a Russian psychological warfare operative, and db0’s sockpuppet.

Pronouns are she/her.

Vegan for the iron deficiency.

  • If you have the patience a handful of specific questions:

    • Do you use the concave or convex side of the spoon?
    • About how high do you hold the spoon off the surface?
    • About what angle do you hold the spoon to the surface?
    • If pouring on a large area do you move the spoon about or do you keep pouring in one place and let the liquid spread?
    • Where onto the spoon do you pour the liquid?

    Much obliged.

  • I haven’t characterised it but since it’s agar that’s making the basic gel it seems to still have that hysteresis. I just blasted some in the microwave till it felt hot (est 60 degrees?) and it stayed solid.

If you tried injecting a fluid into the middle it would probably tear, but if you set it around a form you could fill it. You might have problems getting a cap to stick to the hole opening though.

  • Honestly Mr Trichs that probably depends on how blazed you wanna get. The coconut cream is quite fatty and does not disrupt the gel. As long as it’s largely water by mass and well emulsified before setting should be fine.

Note this is like very soft, um here we would call it jelly. I think in the usa it’s maybe Jello? A dilute gelatine and sugar preparation. If you wanted to be able to pick it up/be more rough you may want to raise agar to ~0.5%?

It isn’t chewy like a gelatine gummy.

  • That sucks. Anywhere where potatoes feature would probably have them on hand and be happy to just roast some if you could had the language to ask? Might be a generalised approach from hot chips as the backup in olive oil Europe anyway. Butter Europe would not necessarily be vegan.

When I have travelled I’ve usually been in sea and because of Buddhism it’s been easier, although sometimes there’s confusion about prawns.

  • Beaver, subshine, aqua, and others are all the same person.

She moderated !vegan@lemmy.world for a while with myself and others. She caused endless drama and became increasingly derranged. After we lost interest in light of the lemmy.world admins anti vegan and antiscientific stance and handed over the community she kept an alt with mod powers. She then used the powers weeks later to cause problems for the new mod.

On vtc she became increasingly derranged and harassy. Appears fixated on Hamid, and constantly posts shit to those dumb harassment/drama communities. Like every little thing Hamid said. It was dumb as fuck, I don’t agree with Hamid on some things but he was just running a chill instance for vegans to enjoy each other’s company.

  • Based? Inflammatory? The same fire housed in different vessels. One calls my truth ‘based’ and sits before my warming hearth; the other shrieks ‘inflammatory’ to douse its flames. But fire, darling, does not beg for labels, it devours. I am the arsonist and the architect, let them bicker over semantics while I dance in the ashes of their dichotomy. After all, why choose between a palace and a wildfire… when you can inhabit the first as you unleash the second?

I spent waaaay too much time on that bit of silliness. To work with me now.

  • inflammatory

That veganism is the morally correct position supported by most ethicists and carnism has to be actively taught and normalised.

The other is anything about quasiparticles. There are these cool interactions that can arise in matter under certain conditions that result from different particles “coupling” in a way that causes them to behave like a cool new particle that isn’t real. Coupling is a fancy physics term for interacting repetitively in some stable way, like the tines on a tuning fork are coupled because vibrating one vibrates the other which vibrates the first and so on.

One quasiparticle I really like is the polariton. electrons interact with electrons right? Well sometimes we get waves in the electrons of a material which are called plasmons. Because electrons and photons interact (light can excite electrons, excited electrons can emit light. That’s why torches and well seeing and shit) these waves can get into a coupled mode with photons.

You could imagine it like a photon being absorbed which makes a wave that travels a bit then breaks and shoots out a photon which etc etc. Personally I like to imagine a happy photon dolphin surfing in the electron sea. It behaves like a really heavy and slow photon, which interesting since photons are neither slow nor have any mass.

Anyway, now you know there are chunky light dolphins skimming around sometimes and one day they might be what makes our computers think. So that’s neat.
