  • I choose what my iPhone fetches. Android and windows get third party apps I didn’t ask for with their updates. Apple doesn’t let accusers or vendors add bloat to their updates.

Samsung announced they will be putting ads on the lockscreens of new phones, using the front camera to stream the video into AI to gauge your reaction to the ad and influence which ads you see on the lockscreen.

Android has always been inferior from practical standpoint but had cool features first and some which never even came to iPhone. Many of those features have been depreciated or aren’t compatible with all Android phones now though. Their hardware was all over the place and some of it was just plain bad, but it was definetly more interesting. There’s a great variety in hardware in Android that Apple just doesn’t have and isn’t interested in chasing. I actually like the folding phones by Samsung but their bloated BS I can’t remove and shady security practices that require root or address, which creates its own security concerns, are unacceptable to me.

wireless cards have their own power management settings that typically arent shown in the GUI and in linux the defaults for some of them are so aggressive they cause problems. Intels are notorious for this but some older broadcom cards had this problem too.

Unfortunately I dont have specific instructions on how to tame an angry fedora. It’s not my main so I dont have that memorized, but I do know Ubuntu likes to include some quality of life tweaks out of box that other distros like fedora can omit, including power management settings that can help tame stubborn wireless cards like these.
