Read with a real book if possible . If you sleep by yourself you can be quiet with just a small light. Either I get lost in the story then can sleep or it gets so boring sleep seems better then forcing myself to read another word.

I believe free will exists but the world is deterministic. In your life you can make any choice you want & it was decided by you. However the effect of your actions on the world is so small that it will continue on a predetermined path. Events in the future are “predetermined” & all I have power over is how I react to it.

That’s what story books are for they exist to explain that there is evil in the world & not all people can be trusted. Red Riding Hood teaches stranger danger, & other traditional stories teach other lessons. Just because these stories aren’t real doesn’t mean the lessons they hold are less valuable. Tell them a fairytale & explain how people in the real world can be a wolf but you may not see their fur or fangs. The fairytale elements allow a child to learn & they can apply the lessons when they face a situation that reminds them of the fairytale.

Rails & trails. We have spent the last 50 years building “one more lane” to solve traffic & all it does is incentivize more cars. Roads don’t promote high density travel like a proper bike network in a city or a commuter rail network to connect suburbs together.

They still need a way to get around any transport would make that easier

I disagree with the removal honorifics in language. I get we don’t have lords & ladies anymore but I’ve found making anyone I help feel like one has led to me getting more orders filled. I understand why some people don’t want them personally but I think it would be a shame to throw the baby out with the bathwater cuz the norms don’t yet include everyone.

I think you could make a case that you could learn new forms of pure math if you had a method of storing information in your brain.

Spirit island is my favorite game to play with a group. It has you trying to protect an island from colonists who damage the island with their expansions. Each player has different abilities that force you all the work together & requires a lot of teamwork to win especially some of the higher difficulties.

I used it a decent amount at my last job to write test reports that had a lot of similar text with minor changes.
I also use it for dnd to help me quickly make the outlines of side characters & flesh out my world.

Idk about your first point but The Ocean Cleanup, has been doing great work creating plastic filters for the worlds most polluting river. I understand not creating the waste in the first place would be most efficient but this organization is doing a good job cleaning up the mess.

I just finished Lessons in Chemistry. It started of a little dark but quickly turns into a roller coaster slice of life novel that secretly weaves a series of plot points before coming to a heartwarming end. I am starting Meditations by Marcus Aurelius with annotations for context.
I’ll probably also read a second lighter book in-between sections of Meditation cuz it’s a dense book.
