You may also want pactl for audio switching.

Did you plug the drive back into the exact same slot? If you switched them around that could be the issue.

Really surprised how far back they are going for enhancement.

Buttons do not work anywhere no.

My initial thought was software, but after all the above stuff I did pop the back off to check for any burned out components, water, and to make sure all the cables were seated well. Everything looked fine though.
