Agree with Siemens and Miele. Great kit.
I’d like to add Zanussi to that list. I have a 21 year old frost free A rated Zanussi fridge that’s still going strong. I’d say it’s saved us a fortune over the years.
Similarly old Zanussi oven / gas hob that we gave to my mother in law when we were moving house nearly 20 years ago. Only the oven element has ever needed replacing.
Edit: I may be misremembering the gas hob. Giving it away would only make sense if it’s electric as we were moving into a house with gas.
You missed the joke unfortunately. :(
Gergiev, Putin’s most loyal cultural ally who received the specially revived Hero of Labour award in 2013, has never hidden his loyalty to the Putin regime.
C’mon my Italian friends. Make it hell for the bastardo.
They do indeed.
I have both on my way home from work conveniently, but the Lidl is handier so I use that and not so much the Aldi, but I thought I might be missing some hidden gems. :)
We don’t have either of those here unfortunately.
Oh they do yeah. Lots of varieties and very cheap too. The brown fusili with pesto is a favourite with the kids.
Have you other large discount supermarkets there? Other than Lidl that is.
They both absolutely dominate the discount section in Ireland but thankfully have driven down prices in the other large chains.
You chime in pal. Pure shite. 1/10. Like they put calories in my belly but it was a chore to eat them.
I wonder if yours are different. Hang on I’ll get a pic…
edit:
Yeah their fresh baked section is very good generally. I’ve a 15 year old who is madly in love with their apple turnovers. I can make her day for the low, low price of 99c. :D
They do a really nice brown soda bread in Ireland but if you’re not in early it’s always sold out. Aldi does have a decent fresh baked section too mind you.
I definitely nibbled this one before reading the community.
They’re gonna be working hard to justify that budget. Things are going to get a whole lot worse for our American friends. :(
You’re not going to believe this but someone else commented above that it might be the HDMI cable or monitor and unbelievably they were correct. Ping immediately restored once I unplugged it then went bad again when I replugged.
I’ve rotated the deck 90 degrees and it’s a lot better.
Holy. Fucking. Shit.
This was it.
Here’s my ping output. You can see where I unplugged and replugged the HDMI cable. Absolutely not in my wildest dreams would I have thought of this. Thank you so much.

Thanks. I can’t see it in the KDE settings but will give that a whirl.
It’s WiFi, 3rd party dock (but deck WiFi), ISP router which is unaffected on other devices, OS is right up to date.
I did reboot the ISP router just before posting and the issue still persisted until I rebooted the deck at which point it was gone.
edit: It’s gone to shit again. I got a network analyzer on my phone and ping is clean as a whistle on it while the deck is averaging 400ms.
Yeah there was a big hullabaloo after parts from some tiny Irish lawnmower engine manufacturer were found in a Russian drone. Government take the sanctions seriously here. Big investigation and it turned out to be exactly that.
Nice!
