@brisbane It’s supposed to be winter!! (Or at least, was just yesterday.) Darn weather was up over 30 degrees.
Run’s 24.1 km total, took about 2:10 of running time, plus a fair few pauses to make sure I was still on track.

@SubArcticTundra ha! Yeah that’s a common refrain when non-Brisbaners (especially Americans) see photos of Riverfire. They’re not actually flying anywhere near that close to buildings—they go over the river.
@Zozano it’s not so much fuck me, as fuck the entire Brisbane population.
@Pistcow not confirmed that this will be tolled, but it’s going to start from the end of one existing toll road which, yes, was built by a mix of public & private funds and is now privately-owned and tolled. I expect this will be the same.
But my objection is *primarily* about the fact that it’s being built at all, rather than about who’s paying for it, per se. Even if both are bad.
@brisbane this announcement comes right in the middle of widening Gympie into an 8-lane monstrosity through this section. It needs a *serious* road diet. One 24/7 bus lane in each direction, a bike lane in each direction, and it would *still* be a 4 lane major road. But instead, we get peak-hour-only bus lanes and you can navigate some winding back streets (give way every time you cross *any* road!) if you wanna cycle to Chermside.

@trk conveniently, I only noticed the fog because I went outside to bring in the washing, and discovered it was *soaked*.
@trk I went out last night at an unreasonable hour to go take photos. Took my good camera though, not the smartphone, so will have to wait to process them before sharing.

@Spitzspot yeah I dunno why exactly the Pitch Drop experiment gets the label “longest continually-running experiment”. Probably some kind of technicality about what exactly counts as “experiment” and “continually-running”.
