Not knowing exactly the nature of your entrepreneurial skills, I have found good success with meet n’ greet, press the flesh as it were. Some businesses need a lot of advertising, some don’t need any. Join your local Chamber of Commerce or Business Association. Keep your ears open. Treat every interaction as an opportunity to grow your business.

For example, I am getting along in years so farming 20 acres got to be a bit much for one old guy. I started leasing acreage to other local farmers mainly for growing silage. I was at one of our local farmer’s market one day and by chance overheard/eavesdropped a conversation a small group was having. They were talking about looking for small plots of land that they could all go in on together and have a communal garden. You help with the labor, you get a share of the grow type of thing.

So I approached them and listened to them talk and suggested that I may have the solution they were looking for. Long story short, I now have four, one acre plots that I lease to locals for their communal gardens. I provide the pipe stand for a water supply with bib to split off different watering troughs and I plow the plot for you. All you have to do is work the soil, grow your veggies, and profit.

So basically now, I have positive cash flow with moderate to minimal work. I still maintain a one acre plot for my personal grow but in all honesty it’s far to much for just one person to eat. I usually donate most of that to local food banks in town. Which is another good thought to keep in mind. We all get help along the way in life. No one is self made. Pay it forward. Give something back to the community local to you.

In my honest opinion, I don’t think companies really delete every last kb of your data. Your data probably still exists on a backup in some server farm.

I already have sendmail on the server. Is there something special about Postfix? Just asking,I’ve never run Postfix and I’ve never had this experience before with a host. I guess they think that if they charge an extra 6 Euros to flip the switch, people wouldn’t use it for spam purposes. I’m bound and determined to figure out a workaround just because.

As I mentioned, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. One thing I don’t like about Contabo is that you can only maintain one snapshot at a time and there is no automatic way to create multiple snapshots. I did find an n8n flow that does just that.

For the average consumer of AI, it’s a novelty at this point, even tho we have been using pieces parts of AI for a long while now. But it’s getting it’s stride in stuff like face swaps, neat tiktok videos, making weird pictures. I liken it to when ‘the cloud’ came to town. Hell, we’ve been uploading to servers and running apps on servers for a long while before ‘the cloud’ happened. Everyone and their brother trampled each other to move their entire operations to the cloud. Then, as the dust all settled, we started realizing that not everything that could be in the cloud, should be in the cloud, and so things got back to normal. But just the words ‘the cloud’ made CEOs jizz their pants at one time.

Sameie, sameie with AI. It’s a selling point. There was a thread here I believe, talking about an AI rice cooker. The ‘AI’ part sells it, even tho we’ve been making excellent rice for millennia. I use AI. I find it a faster way to cut through all the searches and give bulleted points to deviate from. I realize that it’s not best practice to rely on AI’s word, but use it as a springboard into further investigation.

I can better digest the material if I can read it. However, it has to be online. If you gave me a traditional book of a topic I was keenly interested in, I’d never crack the binding. Give it to me digitally where I can read it on any of my devices, and I’ll read it cover to cover. Yeah…I’m a weird old curmudgeon.
