  • Oh I totally get what you are saying and I do not disagree. On the other hand, I don’t pay for Netflix under my phone plan (it’s one of the services that T-Mobile provides), so in that way I am supporting the film. At least that is how I justify it. Also, I don’t expect Netflix to ever release a physical version of the film (unless they do, which would surprise me), so there’s that. Additionally, I’m tired of watching the soundtrack on YouTube, so there’s that.

Yeah, ND Stevenson is transmasc and came out as such back in 2021… he used to use different pronouns and a name, taking on the first name of ND, and changed the pronouns to he/him/his. And recently, his wife, changed her first name to Lee Knox, so now its Lee Knox Ostertag, and also is transmasc too! Anyway, I’m really enjoying reading ND’s new book, Scarlet Morning.

  • The Dragon Prince, Amaya and Jinai aren’t originally in a relationship, and they slowly get more involved, and eventually they marry… At least that’s my memory. I don’t know if that counts as slowburn, but I think it would. There’s a LOT of seasons of the Dragon Prince, so I can’t blame you for that. I even had to catch up because I was behind by two seasons.

As for SPOP, it surely does fall into wlw slowburn.

Yeah, but She-Ra is queer through and through. The Dragon Prince originally has a slow-burn between two supporting characters (a deaf woman and a sunfire elf) but they later enter a romantic relationship. As for KPop Demon Hunters, I like that film but it has no canon queer characters… but you can interpret queer themes and undertones if you like in certain parts, like in the finale (not giving any spoilers for that). It’s a great film in its own right.

  • Okay, that’s a good point. You are completely right about why there aren’t many married characters. I do find it interesting that Spinny herself is voiced by the series creator, who, since he is now transmasculine, would likely be voicing someone different if the series was to come out today.

  • Cool! I wonder if its as much of a hot mess as There’s No Freaking Way I’ll be Your Lover! Unless…. It’s such a hot mess of a show, but it involves young woman becoming friends with another popular girl, who believes she saved her life (it was actually a misunderstanding) and she confesses her love to her, leading both of them to a game whether they are lovers or best friends. In the process, she meets some other young women who she is attracted to. Will definitely have to check out that game.

  • I mean, I wouldn’t say they kill one another, but in the extremely underrated Ark: The Animated Series, an Aborginal lesbian woman who gets iskeai’d to another world and well… falls in love with another woman. And they end up killing people together. In fact, the second part, is hopefully, coming out this year, and one of the series writers is known for writing lesbian stories. But, yeah, these lesbians rule.

  • Yeah, really looking forward to the next season of Spy x Family, Watashi wo Tabetai, Hitodenashi (otherwise known as This Monster Wants to Eat Me), Shuumatsu Touring (otherwise known as Touring After the Apocalypse), Egao no Taenai Shokuba desu (otherwise known as A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace). I’m gonna watch some older shows this fall too, like I just started Pretty Cure last night, so I’m gonna go through watching all the Pretty Cure series I haven’t seen so far, plus continuing to watch You and Idol Pretty Cure.
