Buying the product gives people the right to use it
It’s implied, but it’s not clear - which is why whenever you “buy” software you actually buy a license to use it which clearly states how, where and by whom it may be used, on how many devices, under which conditions, etc etc etc.
Since there’s no license file, it defaults to all rights reserved, which means full files can’t be redistributed.
I’m not a lawyer, but I would argue this actually means that even people who get it from Gumroad can’t use it “legally”. There should be a license which expresses your intent.
I thought I was going to pass on it, but now I’m kinda hyped to replace one of my aging xbox controllers with this one.

It’s not though. It may not be FOSS, and by omitting a license you do keep the copyright by default, but it’s definitely not closed source either, it’s “source available”. Unless I’m missing the joke?
I mean… Yeah, if your goal is to make bingo-card-creator-as-a-service then it makes a LOT more sense to make it into a website and not a desktop app. Not sure why this is presented as a revelation of some sort (besides this being an ad for the bingo-card-creator-as-a-service in question)

DX12 games suffer a pretty hefty performance penalty on NVIDIA videocards. It’s getting better with the new drivers and recent fixes in Proton, but for now if you own NVIDIA - it’s usually on par or below Windows performance, for the more recent games. Still acceptable in my case tho

I’ve stopped booting into my Windows partition roughly a year ago. I don’t play games with kernel level anticheat and the rest works for me. Even VR. Even on NVIDIA.
There’s ntfs3 and ntfs-3g, both have their own problems. I wonder if the new one will make it possible to run fsck scans
I’m playing Archolos, which is a free fan-made game on the Gothic 2 engine (you still need to own Gothic 2 tho). It’s like 60 hours long and I’m only 12 hours in and just got into the city. The quality is pretty incredible for a fan-made game, I think I’ll be playing through it for the next 2 months at the very least

And as I mentioned in another comment - I don’t think there’s much damage from leaks like this, because you have to REALLY want to play it if you’re willing to go through with the hypervisor bypass. I was arguing against a general statement of “who cares, they’ve already been paid, just pirate it”. The leaks themselves are just kinda bad taste tbh?

oh, it’s almost like generalizing everything with sweeping statements is not useful and doesn’t override the reality where things cost money regardless of shitty execs making shitty decisions. in a world filled with remakes, remasters and sequels I think we should try a bit more to reward new IPs with new ideas coming out, that’s all.
